Originally it was going to be a treck across europe but the guy i was going with dropped out (boo) so instead it turned into a visit to malta
Soo finally got around to uploading some pics and figured i would post them here too for those that care and others who just want to click things (we all like clicking
).
Pics i can upload here are rather limited as i dont want to post pics of others without permission
What can i say the place was amazing, i would go as far as to say Malta is the better version of spain (oddly enough there was a huge spanish population there)
We stayed in a nice town called Buggiba which was the touristy part of town really as there were alot of british pubs, as well as resteraunts, bars, couple of small clubs etc..
The hotel was pretty awful as far as hotels go, but it was situated in a great place so we stayed there anyway, 3 star but i would say it was closer to 2
We went half board so we wouldnt have to search for brekkie and dinner everyday but shops, bars, resteraunts were only 5 mins walk away
View from room
We only had time to visit about 4 of the 8 beaches as we were only there for the week, apologies for the poor photography i just point and click then hope for the best
Buggiba Bay, right next to our hotel so easy access it was a rocky beach so we didnt really go there more than once. Unfortunately i only have the 1 night shot in this camera (other one's USB cable got left behind)

The problem with this beach however is that the waves are VERY strong and there is not enough beach to do much other than sun-bathing.
So unless you are a strong swimmer it's not really recommended as the coast is literally rocks, i managed to cut my hand on one on the way out of the water which wasnt pleasant
In the evening we went to a couple of clubs in buggiba but to be honest they werent anything special, mostly toursists who didnt want to stray too far from their hotels. There were more kareoke bars than i could count if that is your sort of things, and alot of stuff to amuse kids if you have them (water parks open until about 9/10pm bear in mind it was about 26oC during the night, cinema, resteraunts, minature fun fairs etc..)
However it is WELL worth the trek to Paceville which is where the best nightlife is (see later)
The rest we had to get to using bus, the bus service is hopeless if you want to get somewhere on time as they seemed to arrive whenever they felt like
and each bus route had different times for when the last bus arrives/leaves so i would strongly advise catching the one before the last one if you are waiting.
After 11 the night service starts and your bus pass no longer works, but transport is dirt cheap 1 euro 16 for anywhere so not a huge issue, busses stop working at 3am
Next best beach was Golden Bay, the water was nice but a bit grotty nearer the beach (seaweed, sand, etc...) but the water was reasonably warm. You could do stuff like parasailing and jetskiing here
this seemed to be the most touristy beach apltly illustrated by a busload of russians coming onto the beach singing the russian national anthem. They did set up goals and volley ball nets though so it was rather fun in the end
Golden bay also had the best toilet and chaning facilities by far (free aswell)
The next best beach was Mellieha Bay, white sand beach with clear water. It also seemed to be the favourite for the locals as the beach was packed out
This is probably the best beach we went to, there was a fair bit of shallow water but also had a deep end loads of room but the toilets and showers were truely awful.
However Mellieha had the most shops etc, and you could buy tickets to the evening BBQ on the beach.
THere seemed to be alot of younger people here in the evening having bbq's and get-togethers so if you wanted to talk to the locals about 6-7pm ish would be the time you want to head down.
There were a few people fishing on the sides of the beach so i assume there
were fish further out
Slightly bigger pics this time to do the place justice
The little water park thing in the first pic was a couple of trampolines slides etc, and a big float where you have people on either side you jump up and down to shake the float so the people on the other side fall off
And yes most the girls there had an amazing figure like her
Last beach we went to was Paradise Bay, this one was my personal favorite as it was almost entirely locals and had kayaking through little rock outcrops
In my opinion it was also the most pretty out of the ones we went to, the catch?
There is a 1km walk from the bus stop to the beach entrance
The beach itself was very small and the water was deep but calm so you would need reasonable swimming ability to enjoy it
However there was kyak hire available and i would go for that alone, very easy to use and great rocks outcrops to explore
I didn't take my camera out as i didnt want to get it wet, so i cant show you the rocks you can go through
