Chrome malware

I've got this really odd spyware problem with chrome, if you open a second page it shows Google as in my settings, but when you type in the box it appears in the address bar, if you click on say Hotmail it takes you to a phishing site, I reset the settings as there was a funny %os before the google, this fixed it but now it's back without this dodgy address in the settings.
Any ideas

Probably something attached to something you installed recently. A lot of free programs come with malware/adware attached these days so its always best to be careful and select "custom install" on these programs and then untick the bollocks they want to also install.

If you know the name of it then there will likely be a guide on removal on the internet.

take your PC outside
pour petrol over it, and then set it on fire

will solve more than 1 problem
