personally im a no, its one of the few UK things ive failed to subscribe to since i moved over here (ive now worked out the meaning of eating Tea since i moved here) but in the many years ive now been here this is one thing i still refuse to eat, i mean, why on earth would you want to eat some cake thats been left to go stale for a year, soaked in booze and then set on fire?!? if you did that with say a loaf of bread or a steak no way i would eat it, so why cake?!?

(i also dont like marmite, mince pies, or baked beans)

x-mas food = brewer's wort bread to dip in the juices you get when you do the ham, different kinds of pickled herring (normal, garlic, mustard, herbs etc) , meat balls, "prince" saugsages, cabbage, lax (smoked and cured) smoked eel, potatoes, grilled ribs, and much, much more.... :)

arent you supposed to light it with brandy butter or some such thing ?

so the proceedure goes,

1 - make cake
2 - Age for a minimum of 1 year
3 - Top with brandyButter
4 - Light it
5 - Eat

riiight!
I'll happilly sell it to you, but I'll be damned if It's going anywhere near my mouth!
hmm..on second thought..naah..or ? ...Naaah!

You don't eat it while its on fire you fools :p

You pour brandy on it, light the brandy and then walk into the darkened dinner room with your family going "oooh" and "aahhh" in a similar way to the fireworks thing.

No no no no nooooo!

Poor brandy on, leave and cover. Poor more brandy on, leave and cover. Inject more brandy at various points using hyperdermic needle. Leave for several hours. Then and only then pour brandy on and set light to it.:)
