Both. The only national meat I'm not a fan of is German. I mean, come on! Frankfurters? Eurrgh.

The clear winner of them all is biltong and burravorse(sp?). Saffer meat aer teh win! \o/

Biltong? Behave yourself. Fancy beef jerky. Best meat in the world is Argentinean "Bife de Chorizo", although why its called that I have no idea, since Chorizo doesn't seem to be involved. Where chorizo is involved is in a Choripan - chorizo hot dog, the best fast food in the world.

Ham for the win. All the different ways of curing it makes it far superior to the one dimensional chorizo.

Ham, but only if it's cured in Parma. Other ham just ain't the same.

Indeed!! Much tastier than British meat.
Its spelt Boerewors...great "Farmers" sausage. Fantastic on a Braai (BBQ for you english folk)

Biltong? Behave yourself. Fancy beef jerky.

WHAT???!!! Blasphemer!!!
Away with you and never darken this thread with your presence again!

Chorizo is a spicey sausage. That is all. So the Argentinians have their own version to the spanish one. Like many other countries do.

Chorizo vs Ham...they are quite different! It would all depend on what meal you are going to have. If I was having a sandwhich then I would have ham. If I was going to have a Paella then Chorizo would be ideal....

Now if you had said Regular Ham vs Parma Ham then things would get a bit tricky...

we're not starting to dodge my clearly defined options again  we've been there before, and we're not doing it again! the options are clearly defined in the poll, and there is no beating about the issue! it's ham vs chorizo, and I don't care if you're smoking the ham in five year old bark taken from the east side of teh south persian chimichimi tree, curing it in the semen of albino dwarf mousedeer or hacking it off a pig and eating it raw, nor do I care if you make your chorizo with added extra-special peppers you found on a plant growing in your sock drawer, with a blend of cat and the strange stuff you found on the ground behind the local chinese chip shop, or 100% seal pointed south american steppes gerbil. it's chorizo vs ham!

in an aside, tdc prefers ham of the iberian mountain pig (aged at least 24 months) and failing that parma will do me just fine. also, biltong is for strange people

ham vs chorizo! the myriad properties of biltong (like brake pads, abrasive sponges, doorstops et al) are not for this thread

BUT saying Ham vs Chorizo is like saying Beef vs Chicken!!
Its just wrong to compare the 2!

Chorizo has wine in it, making it clearly superior to anything else.

Less than a week to the start of Hamadam, the non muslim alternative to Ramadam. Eat pork products at least 4 times during the day. So gotta vote Ham.

yeah that stuff. I recently had it elsewhere and they served it with thimbles of acorn brandy. smashing stuff :)

after that they roasted a whole chorizo over a brandy flambé bed, sliced it and gave it to meeeeeee :)

chorizo deffo - fantastic meat to cook with as well :) (try frying it up in a load of red / yellow / green peppers and then adding some white wine :)
