Axl and his backing band are still light years ahead of todays shite like Arctic Spotty*****, The Killers, Twang etc etc.

I loved GnR so much, but not sure about this. I guess it will never live up to its massive build up...for me, it's not enough 'GnR' for me.

Still better than a lot of the rubbish going around at the moment though.

Ok, after getting my hands on the actual album, and being able to listen to it properly I now give this a 5/5.

Shackler's revenge, Better, Streat of dreams, Catcher in the rye and Sorry are all epic. Axl's vocals are also epic, being one of a vast minority of "rock" frontmen being able to sing from bass to tenor, it shows in this album.

The only downside, is you can tell from the lyrics he is still a bitter man, Wether the bitterness is directed towards Slash or Stephanie Seymour I dont know. But if its the latter, he really needs to get over her, its only been 15 years since they split up.

Not as good as AFD, but much better than the use your illusion albums.

this is the thing thats gonna annoy me so much, people comparing this album with the previous Guns and Roses ones, the only thing the bands then and now have in common is Axl, to compare the two is insane

People need to take Chineese Democracy as something new, kinda like the way they took Velvet Revolvers Contriband album and stop drawing comparisons with the two

Its better then i thought it would be tbh, after the first 2 songs i was thinking "oh god this doesn't sound good" as i'd already head the leaked Chinese democracy and thought it sounded better then the one now. But after that it picks up.

But it is Guns and Roses, Axl has gone out of his way to keep the name and to keep all the things the old line up stood for, maybe I am just asking too much but that's what I want it to sound like.

By the way, I still think it is a great album.

Sebastian Bach's voice has stood the test of time better than Axl's IMO. Both are great. Skid Row were fuckin awesome in their day. So were GnR. But for me, everything started going down hill after Use Your Illusion. There were never the same again.

It isn't classic GnR but it is still one of the best rock albums out at the moment, such a shame Extreme's comeback album was a bit weak but at least they fecking unstoppable live. I went to watch them last Tuesday and I have never heard a band sound so good live and trust me I have heard some great bands.

All I could think of was Zodiac Mindwarp, which ahm compared to classic GnR is BAD !
