Children are 'scared of hospital clowns'

I don't agree with Mr. Eldridge who says it is rather silly to remove clowns there. He says that a lot of things has been banned the recent years and hence implies this is something like the smoking ban. Thats really not the case here. The problem being that fear of clowns is apperently a very frequent thing among youngsters/children and hence painting the walls with clowns to calm the children has had the excat opposit effect than intended.
So surely they should be painted over. The children in the survey expressed they loved the colourful walls, so just leave it with colourful walls without motives or anything. Children wasn't scared of the hospital in itself, only the0 'needle room' (which I am sure scare quite a few adults as well) so no reason to make it uncomfortable for any of the patient to be there if it does have to be uncomfortable.

I first saw "IT" when I was quite old, but a lot of my friends saw it while young and all of them are scared of/uncomfortable near clowns

its strange I put IT on and one of the girls was almost shaking, she hates clowns... and gnomes. Seems a lot of people do.

I do always think IT when it comes to clowns, they don't freak me out but I'd hardly say they are 'funny' or feel happy near one ;)

The film wasn't that scary unless you were 9 (like me) when you watched it. I'll tell you what though, I watched it recently and was sorely disappointed :( Read the book, it's truly awesome.

Why shouldn't you scare kids? Or let them fall off trees? Or eat peanutbutter without the teacher being fired for "nut related incident"? Bloody pampers society.

We, as in most of this forums soon to be middle aged people, didn't get any bans and "don't dos" like kids do these days. And look how we turned up!

On second thought...
