The difference is that you can actually prove Clinton lied and he actually had an affair. As far as we know Bush might actually be telling the truth.

of course Bush isnt telling the truth

He is without doubt the biggest liar to ever be President.

Yes, including that crook Nixon.

Bush > Nixon > Clinton.

For a catalogue of Bush lies, read any decent paper that isnt owned by a Murdoch or has tits on the front page.

What about the CIA men confessing they fudged some reports due to 'pressure' from above .. overstating the threat level etc.?

I don't care for Saddam myself, thing is .. the US did ;) they supported him
and called him a 'factor of stability' in that eastern corner.

Funny how times change. ... Also funny that - if I remember correctly - it was
Donald Rumsfeld who had said that :) ..

thing is the US does as the US wills .. fuck the rest of the world :)

It's still not proof. Nixon was taken to court and he was proven to be lying. Clinton was investigated and he was proven to have had an affair. If some CIA gents say that they did those things because of presidential orders that's not proof, that's just their word against the president's, and of course the president's takes priority.

Of course I'm not saying that Bush is honest I'm just saying you cannot prove otherwise.

I wonder where they learnt about gas - oh yeah probably from Winston Churchill, he ordered the RAF to drop gas on the Kurds back in the 30's. Funny ole world innit?

Btw - who decided which nations were ok to have wmd's and which nations weren't, did I miss a vote?

The USA accounts for 50% of worlds total military spending and they are STILL scared of everyone else - lol what a bunch of wussies :)

No-one decided, the members of the UN agreed that they should devise some treaties outlawing their use; one for Biological and Chemical Weapons, and one for Nuclear Weapons (Non-Proliferation), to which all countries were supposed to sign up to.

Iraq submitted to both treaties, but then they threatened to used NBC weaponry against the armies rallying up to kick them out of Kuwait, hence the reason why the UN decided to enforce inspections in the first place, on the assumption that Iraq by its own admission possessed banned weapons.

No-one decided that Iraq shouldn't have WMD, but the Iraq government agreed to declare and destroy them as part of a cease-fire agreement after Gulf War Part I, an agreement they dodged for over 12 years.

Fudging numbers there. The USA will always be the biggest spender simply because they have the most expensive equipment, also they are recovering military losses from two major operations (Iraq and Afghanistan). Since 9/11 there has been a major increase on security too, obviously.

As a percentage of GDP, a more reasonable expression, the USA is quite reasonable in its expenditure (around 4%), those topping that list are North Korea (about 1/3 of its GDP goes on the military) and most of the Arab nations.

Strange how you claim the USA is "scared", not considering recent developments such as North Korea submitting to US-lead nuclear inspections, Libya agreeing to abandon its WMD programmes and even Syria suggesting it may do the same.

Sorry for the same quote right after Xane.

Alongside the points he has already made (Size and expensive equipment). They also happen to have some of the most specialised and experienced troop regiments in the world.

Comparing a military just on it's spending is beyond a joke. Especially when today the "wars" being fought are nothing like the massive scale regular engagements of WW2 for instance.

Oh, and try calling a US Navy Seal an overpaid wuss :)
