No, the only way forward is to introduce ticket price capping. That way you will get a natural wage capping system evolving over time. At the same time you would see attendances start to rise again, too many people are being priced out of the game right now with prices like £30+ for an adult admission which leads to every other game being played in half fully stadia.

Well, if only the Premier League did it, It would be a bad thing and would prolly weaken the teams in couple of years (and we do not want to see barcelona or inter milan win the champ league do we?)... So I'd say no for sure.

If the rule counted for all the leagues, I wouldn't really mind I guess. Altho I do not have any problems atm with how the rich teams can get the big names..

But it is such a hard thing to control? How are you going to check if the players don't get paied with other stuff.. such as a house, car, phone and all that shit.. just given cash money each week/month/matchday..

(and there should not be a transfercap for sure :x)

I do not think the salary cap would do anything except maybe force world class players who are after money out of english football to spain or italy where they pay as much or more than we do.

The reason i think chel$ki hurt the leauge is they came in and paid prolly double what some players are worth and it has had a knock on affect. Mau U are linked with a player all the agent needs to do is link chel$ki with the player and he gose from a 10mil to a 20 mil. Not Chel$kis fault they get linked but it happens

I cant help but think if Abramo came in and got all the players he wanted but did not over pay things might be different now.

Yes, but also how much money a team can spend on players. So every team would have aprox the same salarys to pay each month making it more even. Transfercaps, since in NHL you most often trade other players or drafts when you trade.

It works in the NHL because that's the only worthwhile league to play in for the sport.

There's pretty much no way you'd be able to get all the different football leagues to come to a sensible understanding on it so it's not going to happen.
Ticket caps probably wouldn't help either since clubs these days arn't making their money through ticket sales. I do think the general interest in football is declining slightly tho.. The "rich" teams are strangling the last bits of actual competition out of the game and it's so overhyped these days that most people are starting to lose interest anyway.

Sure in that I read the interview with him on the bbc sports website about 4 days ago He said he also wanted to cut the number of Italian, Spanish and english teams to 4 instead of 3

If that happens i can see the super leauge forming being bough up again europes top 20 clubs will leave fifa

Also the champions leauge should only be the champions of each country even if they are shite in that countries

It isnt even FIFA, it UEFA. Which basically means you will see more Beckham like deals. Free transfers to America on big money as they wont be held to such decisions.

Yeah that was a mis type and tbh if the worlds top players leave uefa to go to other clubs for more money then you can't say its a good thing as it will bring down the standars of european football imo

Sorry my bad. It wasnt Platini who wanted to limit a clubs wages, its the current UEFA regime. Although PLatini does want to cut the teams from 4 to 3

Main reason for that is that the bigger clubs are only getting bigger, and the small ones rarely have the chance to keep up. Perhaps it would also reduce hooliganism a bit as teams will get a more nationalist character, but I'm not completely sure how hooliganism works so that just may be bullshit

That would kill the leauge in england the big 4 would buy the current england team and best youngsters leaving the rest of the leauge to buy players that are not up to the stadards thus increasing the gap even more. Plus the leauge would lose so much tv money as lets face it most of the flaire players who make things interesting are not english

Would be good for the national teams but it won't happen because the EU won't allow it. The closest thing that is in place is that in champions league they have to have a certain number of homegrown players in the squad.

I have never got why people think it will be better for the national team. At the moment you have got to be special to play for a premiership club if every club needs 8 english players you will have to lower the standards to get the 160 english players needed
