A hearty farewell to WBA and Birmingham! Hopefully Villa will join you next year :D

I can't believe what a job 'arry has done at pompey, the question is, can he continue the form next season :)

Finally, let the queue of clubs start at Curbs house (assuming he isn't taking the england job), I'm sure plenty of clubs would love him as manager, Birmingham & Villa will probably be at the front of the queue :)

Heh, I forgot to notice you'd gone down too, I was too busy cheering that WBA and Birmingham had been relegated from the Premiership, and that Ru$hden and Diamond$ had been relegated back to the Conference :D
I just fucking hope we can actually finish in the top half of the Conference next yr, and that Hereford lose in the play-offs again :D

I hope Curbishley doesn't get the England job. Am I the only one who thinks he's actually not that good?

God, yeah. Why is his name even mentioned? Aren't Charlton just about the most mediocre team in the premiership after Aston Villa?
Scolari should've got it, but the English media fucked that up, so we'll be stuck with some **** like Allardyce.

im looking forward to league2, lots of new grounds and hopefully a nice day out to oxford. relegation isnt that bad really.

curbishley has done a good job at charlton, theyre not a big club and their potential is limited - which is why theyre only mediocre. nowhere near good enough for the england job though.

allardyce is a hoofball merchant, its bad enough watching it at swindon let alone england.

scolari would have been ideal.

Allardyce I could live iwth. He chooses tactics based on the players at his disposal.

Problem is, there are no English managers in the Champion's League.

Problem is that all the english managers in circulation have won ONE fucking trophy, and that was the league cup (boro vs bolton, '04). The last english manager of any of the "top 4" (arse/liv/chel/manure) would've been Roy Evans at liverpool, and he left in Nov 98 FFS.
If you look at someone like Italy, their managers have an abundance of trophies, and are italian, our managers just don't get the chance at the clubs with the power to win things, it's a sad state of affairs, that IMO is all Rupert's fault.

He may not be English but the best option availble to you is still Martin O'Neill.

Can't we just hire a crack team of mutant donkeys to play for us?
They might be better.

Agreed. But we won't get him though; we'll get the oh so talented Steve McLaren . What a fucking depressing week this is turning out to be already...

While I think Oneill is a good candidate what has he actually achieved? his story is pretty similar to Allardyces and Curbs small team no budget living above their expectations. He has done a good job at Celtic but tbh look at most of the players he bought they were premiership rejects and they still runaway with the competitions. So you cant really count his Scotland reputation cause that generally means fuck all.

So I take it taking a team of "Premiership Rejects" to the UEFA Cup final isn't achieving much? Or damn near repeating the trick the year after? What about making Celtic the most successful they'd been in about 20 years? How about beating teams like Juve, Milan and Barca in the Champons League? Oh and Celtic a small team with no budget? Puhlease...... How about using your brain next time before typing?
