Cheater or not that is the question.

As some of you have seen ingame in Odin and Hadrian i've had a grey con now green con shaman on my ass this last week, and monday evening i was on auto run and my old comp lags a bit so the shaman lagged into a tree, and got stuck there. Tried to use /stuck didt work and he was not able to cast anything so i just left him in there was about to log anyway, i ran around the tree to see if i could see him, and i could not, hoping someone would kill him off. So i headed toward amg where some mid fought albs, where there for about 20 min, when i checked my other comp and i saw a luri come up to the tree, and started pbae and thus killing my shaman. And wtf how the hell could he see him, when i could not. I ran back to the tree halfway to bled, could not even see the corpse.

So how the hell did he spot my shaman??

1. Radar prog, been hearing about them in cg last week.
2. Or was he just lucky with F8 /face and /stick?

So if he is a cheater i just pity the poor sod.

probably the name sticking out of the tree. dont forget that in RvR emeny names are usually longer than a players actual char name, unless there name is Imjimmyfixit AndIllFixItForYouLaLaLaLa (you get my point)

I personally run around spamming F8 and qbar 7 (insta DD), mostly to uncover any stealthers that pop into view.

So it is possible that is what happenned.

Of course, not saying that you can ignore the possibility of a radar program, just that there are other options.

The funnie thing is that the little luri was jumping around the tree after nuking, i dunno know the range of theese progs, but just before i came into visual range of the tree witch is futher away than spotting a little luri he ran off. Might just be circumstances. But i know one infil that used EOO prog before he left the game, he told me.

So i'm sure there are more people out there that feel they are so sucky they need to cheat.

Sounds like playing on Andred.

Sitting in a lake, as far away from civilisation as you can possibly go, stealthed, been there for an hour and then WHACK! PA'd.

reckon I'd have a few more RPs than the meagre 170k I have iof that was the case, don't you?

I wouldn't bother buying see hidden either, methinks :)

I am also one of those that spam [nearest enemy] and stick to it as soon as I get one in target :)

Interesting, since it's not possible for those radar programs to spot stealthed players, since Mythic simply doesn't send any info about them through the log-file anymore :)

well surely if you have see hidden, and they are an archer class etc then the data is sent to your client and then the program can locate them?

ive seen radar programs for daoc where u can see all players in entire zones :/ and their exact lvl etc .. :/

ruins the game.

I feel your pain. Had something of the same happen to me.. only even more "suspicious". I was with my scout in Yggdra forest, more specified Bone-Eater Oracle Camp behind Grallarhorn. I also had a buffbot, afk, standing inside a tree pretty feckin far from the camp. (Maybe 4000 yards). And when I was resting suddenly buffs fell off, I see a SB has by cheat or great luck spotted my Cleric INSIDE the bloody tree and killed him. This was very far away, out of clipping range of eachother, and I got up and ran away. Stealthed, and sat down inside another tree, waited. Oh yes. PA'd. Dead. I could swear that person was using radar-hack.. I have never thought anyone cheating before, but there I was certain.

On top of this, GOA have admitted they know about radar hacks and working on stoping "THE WORST", I believe their words was.. meaning there's plenty people out there using it.

When this game becomes Cheater-Strike or Diablo2 on battle.net, I'm SOOOO quitting.

Myself and some of my ex-tds guildmates experienced this a couple of weeks ago in Odins. All hid in a bush miles from the road and no names showing yet 1fg of Hibs ran right to us, not close to us but right at us, bard hit instamezz and gameover. Mattshanes has similiar stories to share as well. One thing I will say is that this kind of thing happened alot more 6 months ago, I was plauged by Mids using radar in Snowdonia who found me epining no matter where I was in the zone. It died down for a long time but seems to be back with a vengence atm :(

FYI alot of casters, including myself, are running around spamming the Nearest Enemy key. In fact I have readressed it to be somewhere near my movement bottoms, so that I can spam it without being interuptred in my navigation. If I get an alb/hib in my scope, its just pressing /face ( also near movement bottoms ) and start nuking.
Very often I have found albs/hibs hiding behind tree's or somewhere else where visibillity arent good, even if running with 1-2 fg's who ddidnt notice anything at all before the alb/hib were dead.

1) F8 range is very very limited
2) Hiding Inside a tree ? isnt that considered a bug exploit
3) As for very weird behaviour .. well when i was playing one of my Thidranki bards .. a certain Hero 'Felt' exactly when and where Albions were .. on many occasions, and funny thing is he was never wrong despite the fact that we didnt have scouts and albions were out of sight in the water. It got to ridiculous levels.. at some point the guy even said how many were standing outside their PK.. that happened when he was stood on mid bridge right next to me ..

How far this madness is gonna go i wonder....

imo if you wanna cheat , play offline so not to ruin the fun for everyone else .. cheater = weakling.

Well he was hiding inside a tree since he could not get out using /stuck, he lagged inside that tree, Fafnir ran into the tree but didt get stuck. And dont see the harm in letting him stay there. Since i did't do anything with him, not even buff fafnir up since i was a amg while trying to get Fafne out of the tree. But i gave up after 3 /stuck tries, then left him standing there, hoping a mob would aggro and kill him so i could get him out.

there is the art of tree clicking.

I do it all the times when I'm not leading thr group.

Press every single tree you see.

Granted, some of these things do sound suspcious
