Yep, those of you that are or are thinking about stocking up beer for the xmas period. Then looking at the some stores such as aldi, tesco and even sainsbury's will do you a big favour.

Sainsbury's bourbon £10.99 you wouldn't think it but yep the full deal, 40% vol, 70cl bottle and it's very nice. But not almost as good as this one.

Aldi Western gold bourbon. Yep, again 40% vol and 70cl bottle, and only 9 quid Oo! and it's very drinkable :) Bottled in Germany I believe so it doesn't come under the American Kentucky law.

Aldi Armilar porto Absolutely delicious ruby port and 19% vol, 75 cl bottle at just a fiver.

Tesco Their own cheap brand vodka, ridiculously priced at 3.99 for a 70 cl bottle that's 40 % - looking forward to mixing this with my tia maria and milk for some white russians all day on xmas after dinner xD

I'll keep looking to see what else i can find but if you wanna do xmas on the cheap as far as spirits are concerned then these are a good bargain :)

JD = cocktail bourbon, maker's mark is much better but more expensive, but as far as average bourbon's go it has be to Jim Beam Black for me :)

I can vouch for that sainsburys bourbon its not bad at all for mixing with coke.

Tesco do one called old samuel for about 9 quid which isn't bad either.

Interesting idea with the root beer, if i can get hold of any, but still there are better bourbon's out there than your Jack, as Olga will tell you :)

Oh there are, for sure, but i just like Jack 7.

Incidentally, Jack named his premium bourbon nr. 7, and people wonder what day of september he was born on.

Now...is that stupid or am i just too logical for my own good :D

Well Cristiano Ronaldo signs his name CR7, and he wasn't born on the 7th of anything, it's his shirt number.

It's not exactly the most obvious thing in the world.

Really? I have a bottle of Makers Mark sat in my cupboard untouched for a year, is it actually decent?
