Just read Ben Elton's new book Chart Throb its a parody on the whole x factor/pop idol culture and its such a bloody good entertaining read.
It also made me totally rethink everything i thought about x factor, I like books like that, theyre funny and easy to read but they also get the lil grey cells working without being up its own arse about it.
Any hoo its a really good book and if your a fan (or like me, not) of these shows then youll love it, there is also a book of his called Dead Famous which takes the piss out of big brother and is also bloody good.
