Save yourself all that money and take the family on holiday...

Yeah there is btw, there's an HPI-like check for imported Japanese cars that guarantees the origin - if it turns out to be dodgy, they'll refund the entire value of the car. Can't remember the name of the org (got it bookmarked at home), but any jap car club (eg GTR Club) will be able to tell you. Plus dodgy imports are very rare if you get them from a reputable placeI'm not gonna import a jap car, I've looked into it, and theres not a very reliable way of checking the cars history (I always HPI)

I disagree about the comments on the Civic Type R.
My sis has a 51 plate and there was bags of room for me (6') and my girlfriend (6'1") in the back.
Coupled with decent space for adults (so you can deffo get kids in), a pretty big boot (for carrying the wife's body home once you've murdered her for saying "dear, this is a 30, think of the kids..." .. oh, and the shopping) and pretty speedy performance (0-60 in 6.5) it's a smashing car for around the 15k mark.

I watched something a while ago, Top Gear special I think it was. They estimated that up to 80% of 4WD imports were nicked. They showed several huge compounds in Saudi where they were stored before coming here. Since seeing that and several people getting their cars reposessed I'm staying clear. They tend to get hit hard on insurance too, just because they can I guess (same parts, same car etc).
Civic Type-R is not a family car.
It is rather small, I wouldnt want to have it for two kids a wife and shopping

a 206XSi - it's on 17's and handles well but had a bit too much body roll for my liking! spent the whole of yesterday having the springs fitted and torsion bar done - much better! eibach 30mm front - 35mm rear, so no need to uprate me shocks just yet.
gotta take it easy tho, it handles like it's on rails but have to learn the new limits cos it'll prob let go a bit more brutally!
Whassat? Didn't you buy that tasty little sporty number? Why did you sell it? :/Originally posted by Testin da Cable
