Cgi-bin <- ???

imo, your isp has either _given_ you a cgi directory or it hasn't.
simply making one prolly won't work.

on F2S any directory can serve as a cgi directory

If you'd read the FAQ you'd already know this

next F2S question you ask me will end up in u being charged a £50 consultancy fee ;)

There's no cgi-bin directory?
The Freedom To Surf webservers allow you to place your Perl scripts anywhere on your website. A common place to put them is in a directory called cgi-bin although this is not necessary.

??? and how do you CHMOD directories ???

SmartFTP has the option greyed out on all directories. Can only CHMOD files

(now you see how thick i am)

I use SmartFTP and can happily modify the permissions on my webbeh's folders.

You sure you've got write access to the parent folder? Dunno how permissions work on a UNIX system, as I'm a Child of Microsoft.

cos i was trying to CHMOD the folders in the list instead of the filelist on the right lol
