I was going to put Jedi again, but went with No Religion in the end. Strange that it says no religion instead of Agnostic or Atheist etc

They've put "no religion" because most people with "no religion" have no idea if they're atheist or agnostic or just cba.

We've got the Irish one next month. I assume the religion question will be:

a. Catholic
b. Catholic
c. Catholic
d. Sore Arse

Its a better situation than before, where many people put Christian, despite having no interest in the sky fairy.

I haven't decided tbh, I put Jedi last time because at the time I thought it was funny. I don't really care this time around though, will probably just put "no religion"

No, they fucking hate it when you are subversive and use made up religions. Sith is the way to go.

No religion will be ticked for me and Mrs.Zenith is leaning that way herself.

I personally like the sound of the Church of Krispy Kreme. They taste divine! :)

It's the same question as in 2001. The BHA and NSS are a bit miffed as it still encourages people who aren't religious to put Christian as it comes straight after the cultural background section. If I remember correctly you can also put an equivalent of lapsed in the sections following, which further encourages people to put Christian (or Jewish, whatever) when they actually have no interest in it.

No religion would probably be the better option for the sanity of the country :)

Yeah, I don't understand why you'd want to skew the results if you aren't religious. Just put no religion so we can see how many of us sane fuckers there are left.

In reality the order in which the fields are presented will introduce some bias. The best way to do it is to do it online and order the selections randomly for each person.

I think its high time we brought back fire worship or the worship of bronze statues - established religions are too dull n straight laced for modern times.

And if your descendents check your census in 100 years time and find you were a "Sith" or a "Jedi" will they come to the conclusion that you were, in fact, a pillock?

Or will they think you were a religious nutjob if you put christian (after someone explains to them what that was) ?

Common knowledge mate, the whole family are already well aware. :D Oh and I am infact Roman Catholic but I do not see what bearing that has on anything apart from my own beliefs, the government have no right to ask me.

You realise on the front of the Census it does tell you to fill it in on the 27th of March or as soon as you can after? There's plenty of time to formulate some bullshit, batshit answers.

There is a certain level of irony in bullsh*tting on a census though, regarding whines on politicians etc etc. Just a smidge ;)

But, but...its in a book and several films! It must be true.

I think that they have no right to ask any of the questions. Most of it is no one's business but your own!

To be serious though; I don't get the big deal. If someone asks you "are you religious" and you're not, why would you start explaining, argumenting or doing anything else but say "Nope"?

Putting sh*t like jedi etc is just taking the piss ofcourse(unless you are practising), but in a sense it's being a wanker about it.

Or am i missing some angle on this?

The religion question is about the only one I don't object to!
