Hey that would be a funky Event for the last Day before Servershutdown. Everyone and his Mom (Alts?) will be teleported into the Frontier Zones and the ones who die wont come back (DELETE) until one is leftover. This one gets killed by a Giant Water Beetle!

Well since iRvR sucks for soloing most soloers travels around to find new places and Benowyc was a nice place until RP-whores came here to farm the soloers. If there are mostly soloers here, it's a solo area, doesn't mean that zergs or groups aren't allowed to come here though.

If u want to duel without any risk of helping find urself a spot in the game where no one can bother u.

But then again...if people like to go solo there...so be it...but they shouldn't whine when they get nuked to kingdom come by a group

Personnaly, I can't see the point of solo-areas personnaly; Daoc is massive MULTIPLAYER online Roleplaying game. But if you consider Beno that way, fine by me, i'll stay away there. As stated, people should be allowed to play the game the way they want.

The funny part is, I see these discussions only on Euro version...Seems like RvR is way more fun on US servers

well, whatever, the fact is, you CAN'T see if a fight is truely fair or not. Either way i'll hit stuff, whether or not people like it isn't the issue. If you want fair 8v8 or 1v1 or 2v2 or whatever, you go to a more underpopulated area and you fight there instead. QQing cuz someone added during iRvr/heavily populated areas is pathetic at best.

technically it is and technically it isn't. Technically it also doesn't matter what is fair and what is not. What matters most is how people treat each other.

I have nothing but respect for the CLA they are a good guild and have some really cool people in there and it is always a pleasure to meet them in game. If they have decided that they want to make a statement about their interpretation of the game then respect to them for being gutsy enough to just come out and say it. People can complain and whine all they like but at the end of the day it is clear where they stand so leave them alone imo.

I am sorry kivik and some of the others in here - you are doing more for the anti adding argument than for it. It really is time you realised that all this adding whine is a political thing. Its about the definition over what is and is not appropriate behaviour in the game. If it is a political thing then it is about trying to present your arguments in a positive way and encourage others to respond and understand you.

As soon as you flame and whine at what are basically some really decent people you lose your argument. They are not going to listen and you will have convinced one big guild that its policy is fine because they are always going to be treated like shit by people who hold your approach to putting your side of the argument forward in the way you do.

Its amazing that you don't see this, truly it is amazing.

We battle eachother and there is abseloutly no rules! Kill your enemys 1vs1 2vs3
5vs1 dosent matter... It is up to you as a person to decide if you wanna add or what the fuck you want to do... If you add you will get a tons of flames etc. and i think that is bull shit!

Becasue as long as you are not doign a wrong thing there is agaisnt the rules or something people are not in there good rigt to complain... So if you dont like someone addign Fine thats oki BUT Keep you ipinion for yourself and stop bother people with it there dotn agree with you... Becasue it will not change anything anyway...

Its not like the guy whos addign is sayign this after a billion flames: HEY they might have point ... I will stop addign and do what i find funny...

They should do as they want, but it might just be pathetic and thats it. They say that other people ruin their game because they get flamed when adding, but they actually ruin the game for the fighting parts. Its not a question about the rules ingame but about the way to act and how you ruin the game for other people.

it's up to the "adder" to actually add or not, mythic gave the option to decide for urself
how that person reacts will define him and his personality in a roleplaying game

8v8 aint sacred, esp not in odins atm, it's so crowded u sometimes have to look for ages for an adversary
even yesterday rhyming accidently mezzed on a fight, we stood there as rhyming realised what he did, next thing determine starts /rude'ing and i as roleplaying git killed and so added
point made its more then 8v8, it aint freaking CS or UT or Quake, more factors to be taken into account and thats what makes it more intresting then the game i quitted b4 daoc, fu**ing CS

biggest mistake all people make on this is to make the time to whine/complain and get upset instead of staying relaxed and put stuff in perspective so u could have more fun in stead comming here to FH to complain how ur perfect fun fight was ruined, imo it could still have been fun if u kept to it

when i ran with akagi he had the perfect attitude and the grp still had fun when added upon
people like that win from u (and if not in the fight, they had more fun overall so there they win for me)

I respect 'roleplayers' way of playing, not verry happy about it but I shut up and take it. Just dont come here dictating how the game is suppose to be played and judging ppl cause of it. Well, as Apco said...it's about time this thread should be closed. There's no point in arguing about this, as the "no adding debate" will continue as long as the game exists.
This thread might best be closed before it degenerates into a real flame-fest. No point to keep pointing fingers at each others, accusing each other of who started.

We're playing in the same realm, and we should best live with each others way of playing and get over the frustrations that (inevitably) come out of different viewpoints.

I love getting 1vs1 fights even 2vsme if they are lower RR not fully templated, hate getting added on from either side but I wont try to get even by adding on their fights at a later point since then someone else suffers aswell ( the person they are currently fighting).

I hate getting steamrolled by fg's but i try to saty away from them, I really do love to PA a healer or a caster in a bridge farming crew

I like to run in duos on zergy nights, I hate when my grp kills soloers when i play a grp char and I usally point that out.

I really dislike irvr cause its ruin the game imo but i can understand that some ppl like it,

I hate the discussion about how the game should be played cause you should play it like you want.

Also have to agree with the one who said that by adding you dont respect the way soloers want to play.

Im in CLA I like the guild very much, loads of friendly ppl in it and a great GM but i cant say im 100% agreeing with the statement

There is a difference between calling someone an adder and pointing out that something they say they do is bs. Why say you don't add on fair fights when you do all the time? It's still not illegal to point out when someone is bs'ing on these boards, I think.

This discussion has been going on for years. Bee made almost this exact post 2 years ago and it resulted in the same flames. The truth is that these two play styles cannot "respect" each other because they are in direct conflict. The best you can do is keep away from the populated areas if you don't want adders. Whining and flaming does nothing except make people enjoy adding on you. Shouting at people in game because they don't play the way you do probably means you should log for a bit.
