It is with regret that I announce that no further applications for CE PvP will be considered between now and the launch of that server. I inititailly set a target of +/- 150 peeps for the guild as being at the top end of what I considered to be a manageble number (God help anyone with guildchat selected). However with the overwhelming response of high calibre applicants (damned Albs zerging again ). and a growing conviction as time went on that a higher number would be manageable given the quality and abilities of those who put themselves forward and volunteered their services for senior positions, this figure was raised to 200.
There are a number of people holding out for class specific requirements of the guild, and these have been taken into account and are still held in "pending" awaiting the final decision of the officers as to which classes the guild may be a bit light on (certainly not stealth ). I promise to get back to you as soon as possible. It may also transpire that a number of peeps don't turn up on Day 1 for some reason (or actually Day 7 if my fears of server cap and failure to gain access in the initial rush are proved right and a certain amount of frustration sets in). There are also holidays and work commitments to be taken into consideration. Should this occur to a small or large extent anyone "pending" will then be contacted and given the option of the available position 2 weeks into PvP once the situation is clear.
I was asked recently by someone who has similar ideas and objectives to myself with respect to PvP how to say no when the guild size has reached it's maximum. Contrary to what many may think (and he may confirm this) it is never easy and is an absolutely shit job from which no pleasure and a great deal of stress (in certain situations) is derived.
A policy statement will be issued with respect to Cutting Edge's modus operandi will be issued in the near future after agreement as to it's content has been finalised by the officers appointed. (Maybe time for a PvP forum LoneWolf )
Finally an apology to the MGC peeps and more particularly those in my own guild. The past 5 weeks have been incredibly demanding due to the unexpectedly high volume of interest shown in this venture, not just here on Excal but from Pry peeps as well. To date I have received via email alone approximately 350 individual requests for membership and a total of well in excess of 1000 mails/PM's both here and at the CE forums with respect to all issues relating to recruitment/class decision/policy/you name it. To every one I have endeavored to respond in a friendly polite manner. In game I have also been inundated with PM's regarding PvP position availability (as well as Excal related issues). My heartfelt gratitude to those of you who have had the forebearance to accept and forgive without critisism the times I haven't been there for you or driven to distraction in-game by issues unrelated to our core Excalibur objectives. I salute you to a man (err...or woman ). And special thanks to Akula for finding the time to put together and administer a cracking forum which has made my life so much easier than it would have otherwise been. I have, particularly over the past few days, questioned whether I really needed the hassle; and it is only by the overwhelming display of support from confirmed CE PvP members that I choose to carry on rather than look elsewhere for entertainment.
Kindest Regards
