Is Mez on an immunity timer?

If someone spams mez on you, is the duration of the subsequent mez reduced?

I.e. if someone applies a 60 second mez, and then does so again, and again is the resultant duration 60, then 30, then 15? or am i dreaming that?

Also I reakon det should be removed completely or given to everyone, and all mez durations reduced to about 1/4, if not less of what they are now.

So not fun sitting there with floating Zs above your head for the entire duration of the fight.

So not fun being excluded from groups because I don't have det.

Imo skill should win battles, not who gets off the first insta mez

iirc
mez, stun, snare, etc, all have 1 minute immunity timers on them. i think this starts when it wears off or is broken, ie DET'd or someone hits you while mezzed.

both casted and melee, ie slam, share the same immunity timers

although i have been chain CCd by hibs recently, and had mezzes last full duration even with DET 3 so god knows

Yes it's 1 minute, once you have been mezzed / purged it or it expires or broken then you are immune for 1 minute.

No that is in PvE only. You will notice that mezzers will spam the mezz on ppl to make sure nobody resist's it. If you are already mezzd it will only tell the mezzer that and that you cant have that effect again < 1 min immunity> it wont break mezz on you though.

Aye Det needs to be looked at in the current situation that is RvR but there was a time that you 'could' chain mezz ppl and that all tanks without ranged spells, Primary tanks, were left mezzd for many minutes and couldnt do anything about it. I know this because I was 1 of these tanks ;). Also when purge came out first you could be remezzed straight away after it so it was kind of useless :D.

Det needs looking at, not Mezzing and its duration. That was already looked at, by including ur resist's you will lower the duration, then add on the person's lvl of Aom < 3% magic resist per lvl> and the finally add on the aoe drop off rate and really ppl arent left mezzd for that long if they play smartly and not afk /stuck on the driver ;). You should be punished with full dura mezz then imo :D.

I was under the assumtion that stun immunity was for 30 secs, Could be wrong here but always thought so from being slammed and slamming :D. Stunning in PvE will mean that you can chain slam a mob / Or stun .. but they duration of the stun will be halfed each time until it becomes non-exsistant :p

You do know that most insta mezzes don't last more than ~10-15 secs don't you? It's getting pretty annoying how some people overrate insta mezz so much. It's a complete SHIT spell to use for CC, its good for interrupting and avoiding a castable mezz if you _really_ have to.

Castable mezz >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> insta.

aye, but i'm talking from a caster point of view remember :)

10-15s is enough for anyone to line up a nice positional on you, be it a slam, a pa, or a side style thats gonna have you kissing the sweet sweet grass of emain in no time, and there's not a damned thing you could have done to defend yourself, except burn purge once you're sitting there with the floating Z's above your head :)

its probably a lot of factors that influence my hate of mez, none more so that my battle life expectancy as a grass kisser (caster).

if your groups aren't winning CC then maybe you should reroll a CC class yourself and show them how it's done

The mezz immunity system seems slightly bugged at the moment on goa servers - last night I was chain stunned/mezzed for about 3 minutes consecutively (with det 3 this is) with no mezz immunity timers, all from the same mezz type/person.

Not much we can do about it, but it works fine on the US servers I hear

sounds like a bug to me - sure you weren't being mezzed then rooted then mezzed? delve the icons - get which mezzes are being used on you and mail RightNow.

If the targets have 50% spirit resist (which a good group will have) the bard insta lasts for 15.5 seconds. That's more than enough time to tip the fight your way - all else being equal.

Castable mez lasts much longer ofcourse, but more often then not groups collide in areas with short visibility. If two groups crash together in the middle of the bowl then yes, castable mez is better. What usually happens though is that groups find themselves suddenly on top of another when running through a milegate or around a cornered hill. In those situations instamez is much better.

Anyway, some realms (*cough*) have access to both options, some does not :)

On det 5 with 50% resists, the difference between insta and castable is only a few seconds.
