It's a text version of the blair witch, just replace 'forrest' with 'cave'

Tom Hanks is in it?

;)

Didn't bother reading past the first/second page. People that try to tell a story by putting basically 1 paragraph of text on each page deserve the plague or something.

It was a good read but by the end was pretty obvious that it was just a story.

So he was in a cave with this creature that could make blood curdling screams and also cause you to turn pale and feel sick. This creature was held in check by a stone with some 'blair witch' style runes (which he couldn't get pictures of because all the negatives came out blank) but somehow could move this stone whenever someone happened to be close.

So this guy was in the corner of this room, with the stone moved leaving the passage to this creature wide open... yet it didn't come out and eat brains, but waited for him to scramble back out of the passage (probably took 30-60 mins judging from his descriptions) before pulling on his rope a bit.

In the real world, when you're trapped in a cave with evil flesh eating monsters from hell then you might as well empty the change out your pockets to stop them getting indigestion cos there's no farking way they're gonna pass up a free meal.

And this guy was so terrified that he took the time adding pop-ups to his website.

Well I read it all and I liked it...

I do get claustrophobic though so just the bit where he pulls himself into the hole was bad :)

The whole point is, that you don't know what the "creature" is. Obviously, the creature can move the round stone any time it wants, which we gather is why there's sometimes a draft coming through the hole, and other times not.

Who's to say the creature was aggressive? It never attacked them; It came close enough to him to see some kind of face, but then it dissapeared, only to follow them up to the cave entrance. The creature didn't do something to make them feel ill, it was them hearing and knowing that it was there.

He certainly told it very well; If the creature had turned out to be some harmless animal, then i would have believed it. However, even as a work of fiction, it was still good, and worth the read.

Would have been a bit of anti-climax if it had turned out to be a large subterranean bunny rabbit with a sore throat and some serious flatulence problems, though.

Perhaps it was just chasing them to return the guys video camera and give him a lecture about leaving man-made objects in places of natural beauty.

Absolutely fantastic story. Needlessly long-winded in places (imo), but that didn't stop me from persevering.

Agree with everything Shocko has said in this thread so far. :)

Scary shit.

Nobody could get my to crawl down one of those holes - very claustrophobic.

Well, i've never been caving, but i wouldn't mind going. However, if i did go, and i happened to remember this story, well i'd be crapping my pants :)

I used to allways take the dog for walks around 7ish, which is dark in winter... When my sister(who's nearly 4 years older than me as it happens) started going on about how all the hedges and trees and stuff freak her out when she walks the dog in the dark... Well i went for one walk during the dark after that, and started going several hours earlier from then on :) I get freaked out easily :(

What caused you to move 400ms away? Smelly Towers? or Education purposes?
