I've just got a new 9800 pro to install (low end 128mb one but cheap and my existing 9700 pro can find a home in my lad's machine easily) and I planned to run 3dmark before and after to judge the improvement. Now I'm tempted to do this not only for the card itself but for the new drivers too, but that's loads of faffing about and I'm not sure if I can be arsed to.

I'll run 3dmark now on 4.3 then upgrade and try it with 4.4. My system has lots of shit on it so it won't have that good performance I guess, but it will show if theres any improvments .

Ive stuck them on my daughters machine, and frankly, they blow. Open GL keeps blacking out in CS (always just at that moment too)

Hey ho, might just need tweaking I guess.

Ive got them, they work perfectly in openGL and D3D, indeed Id suggest a slight fps improvement in BF:V.
CS is much the same, but im happy with 100fps anyway

Well you're playing Battlefield Vietnam, which is a DX9 game, so its fairly obvious you cant use 3D Mark 2001, which is disigned for dx8.1 .
You need to get 3DMark 2004 or whatever it is

There's a patch for 3dmark 2001 which allows it to work with DX9.

Apparently Bluesnews reported that Battlefield Vietnam are going to provide an update soon that should eliminate problems with ATI cards at the moment.
