Catacombs eu / us ?

Got myself a gamebox with Catacombs... the thing is that it dosnt state anywhere on the box whether (sp?) it's for EU or US.

Can i use this or am I shafted and will need to replace it with a specific EU version ?

It aint released on EU yet so you got an US copy, which you can only use on US servers.

if you don't have a euro version of daoc, then a US add-on (which is what catacombs is) won't work.

if you already have an account with GOA (the euro company hosting/supporting daoc in europe), then the US catacombs will work when the euro version goes lives. The patch servers will simply overwrite any files on Catacombs to make your version 'Euro'.



Although, I guess you're saying you have a single game cd called 'Catacombs'? In which case, you can try register it online, the CD-Key will either be accepted as Euro, or as US. Tbh, you're better off playing US anyway. The subs are cheaper (despite the recent price increase) and service is in-game (GOA do not offer in-game support).

Not true. If you have a US box, then the CD key won't be accepted as valid when you try and register it on your Euro account. By the same token you can't register a Euro copy of Catacombs on a US account.

hmm, is that just Catacombs?

when i got SI, i never entered a CD Key, just used my old Classic Key.

Nope It should be the same for all retail (i.e. paid for) expansions. Each needs to be activated on your account with a valid cd key supplied with the expansion. The only exceptions are the free expansions which don't need to be registered at all (Foundations and NF) and the 'all-in-one' sets which have the basic game plus one or more expansions and one CD-Key which activates them all.

It's cool now, the store gave me a refund. By gamebox I just meant "Catacombs cardboard box with the game inside "

I have thought about making new char's on U.S servers but I just dont have the time to remake my toy's all over again. If I could move my chars to U.S I prolly would.. until then mid/pryd is my home

Catacombs will be released 15/04/2005 in stores accross EU.

Incorrect.... This is the date Play.com Amazon.com etc etc are advertising but the actual date should be around the middle of March.

There are two releases one being the dogs dangleys and the other a basic version.

Having spoken to Requiel via an E & E the date to expect release is going to be March.
