Caster Mace thing?

Can anyone tell me were you get that Mace a Caster can use?

Not sure what its called, but i want one!

It's called Sceptre of Intellect and if I recall correctly it drops of a bunch of low level mobs, but is quite rare. I think that marsh scracgs and the skeletons up in Llyn Barfog drops it.

i farmed for like 12 hours for it, chaining greens with a lvl 20 inf then a lvl 20 friar when the greens eventually became greys ... i finally got one off a completely unexpected source who just happened to have one in his vault (thx Thrunge)

may I please know what the advantage of this staff is, I mean why are people farming 12 hours for it as its going to grey out after a few lvls

well it wasnt deliberate farming, more like slow levelling while reading a book with a vague side purpose. the odds are something awful like 0.3% to drop so i wasnt that hopeful, got like 4 levels out of it ...

anyway i was looking for it during a phase where i thought i could disguise my sorc as a friar... black robes, hooded cloak and an obvious mace by my side, coupled with a SCed Friar-style staff.

However it didnt take me long to find out that the whole AVALONIAN above my head gives it away far too fast... plus people tend to go for friars anyway since they are wearing leather

Was just a crazy idea for RvR but although it didnt work its still pretty cool to see a caster carrying a mace.

new weapons (well not really) for casters that are one handed, and let them hold a Globe in there left hand

Just wanted one, have plenty of money, and cba to make some lowbie alt to go farm and *maybe* get one.

Luckily i got my second one for free *hugs Soze*.. But other than Soze, i havent heard of anyone actually getting this to drop, its very very hard to be lucky enough to get one

And yes, go on and on about how your level 20 got 10 of them in one hour xping, you can join the rank of lgm crafters who tell me that they got 3mps in a row and a full set of mp cloth never costs them more than 2p to make.. I am never that lucky ;/

Now I just need a third one for my up and coming cabby... Anyone selling ? ))


(after farming tower keeper, i learned the value of my time... never got the damn cloak and had to buy those too! Can do better in DF getting seals then just buying it from others who have the luck i dont seem to have)

Basically farming all Avalon Marsh mobs arround lvl 15-25 will drop it (but mostly Mud Golems, Quicksands etc). Also Welsh Hobgoblins in Barfog drop it. Not to forget the Grove Nymps arround lvl 20 and the nomad mobs behind the Salisbury Plains/Camp Forest border drop ehm aswell. You just need, luck, farming power and time to get ehm. So far i count having had 4 of them drop and seen 3 drop at Mud Golems & those nomands i talked about. Each time it took me between a lucky help-the-noob-kill to 20+ hours of farming greens/blues, first 2 came from Mud Golems, second came from a Welsh and the last came from a Grove Nymph which was a lucky shot Its worth the time it cost you tbh, but normally 6 hours should be enough to get it. It nice to solo for a cabbie, he'll be able to farm it faster, and if yer really die-hard you can lvl from 15-20 on Mud Golems, as thats the most common spot.
(The bad side of this is that if yer farming mobs while another group just passes by and kills onel that the chance is high that the other group gets the item for your effort of farming, had this twice at the Mud Golems)
