One could also argue with the Too Wong Foo/Snipes mention.

The fact Snipes isn't the correct actor to play a drag queen shouldn't be of issue, as his ill-suited appearance is intentional for the sake of humour.

Yes, Deniro and Pacino = Great Actors

Heat = Shite film.

Deniro and Pacino were less compelling here not because of their own ability, but due to things that were wrong with the film. Like the scrip and the direction and the fact that everything was just REALLY boring.

IMDB.com - go see!

Whilst Heat seems like it was filmed by a group of monkeys that happened to have stumbled accross film equipment, this amazingly, isn't the case.

OK you're contradicting yourself... I bring your attention to exhibit A

Your saying the actor will only choose a film that they feel is for them, then your saying its the films fault if it turns out bad. I say the actor knows what type of film it is, he has read the script, he knows who he is working with and he knows who the director is so some of the blame lays with the actor.

I have seen many awful films where the actor has really stood out and done a good job, but I have also seen many awful films where the actor is just as dire.

I'm saying a decent actor looks for constant challenges in his career. A lazy actor takes the same roles time and time again.

An actor doesn't always make the right choice, and sometimes even a talented director can make a bad film. Art doesn't always turn out the way you want it to.

The fact that several Wesley Snipes movies have turned out shit is neither here nor there, Wesley had nothing to do with it, the films were shit regardless.

There's no contradiction, just a lack of understanding on your part.

I am not talking about bad films oir their directors, i'm talking about an actors ability to act in certain areas, as I said in my last post I have seen many bad movies where the actor has stood out and done a good job, and I have seen many bad films where the actor has not stood out.

Having said that I have also seen many good films where certain actors have not made an impact.

As much as you dont like to admit, actors do not come across as well in certain roles as they do others, yes i know it is cast typing them, yes they work their hardest and do the best job they can and most of the time they do a good job.

Most of you shouldn't be allowed an opinion on films. Ever.

Godfather Part 2 > Godfather > Godfather Part 3 > Casino

Pacino > Brando > Pesci > Willis > Schwarznegger > Seagal > De Niro.

De Niro is at the bottom simply for Analyse This. Which is the worst film ever.

HA!

That's one of the funniest things I've heard in a long while. Seagal, not a bad actor... you kill me.

I ment he isnt bad as in he is watchable, if im really bored and there is nothing else on TV and a film of his is showing then I will watch it, only film of his I have is Under Siege, and he isnt bad compared to some actors out there (Freddie Prince Jnr).

anyway I wasn't as funny as this

This was also a cracking peice of 'I have no idea what I'm talking about' brought to the fore.

Godfather 3 was an insult, and to suggest that it's better than Casino shows the man has less idea about films that Danny Cannon. Look up the name, you'll see what I mean.

adams901 - you really consider Seagal an actor?

sheesh.

A

well I wouldn't really class him as an "actor" he relies on using martial arts to get him through his films, I would say he is marginally worse that Van Damme.

He is however watchable as a last resort, I have never paid to watch his films in the ciinema.

Nice selective quoting guys!

De Niro is at the bottom because of Analyse This, which was the most insultingly shit film I have seen since Romi and Michelle's High School Reunion. And they both have Lisa Kudrow in them. I spot a pattern.

And yes, I did think Godfather Part 3 was better than Casino. It wasn't as good as the first two no, but was still better than any other non-Godfather mob flick.

Friend, even Coppola has apologised for Godfather part III, to say it's better than any non Godfather mafia film is the height of ignorance.

Goodfellas, Casino, Untouchables, Scarface and Bugsy are all superior films to Godfather III.

Talk about what you know pal, not what you think you know.

Have you even watched Casino? rating Part 3 over Casino is just insane, as for putting Schwarznegger and Seagal over De Niro.. well that just leads me to make another selective quote.

I've seen Part 3 and Casino yes. And I enjoyed Part 3 more than Casino. Which leads me to believe it was a better film. Funny how logic works innit.

Watch out lads, the movie police are in town. It's not about which film you enjoy more, it's about which film they tell you is best, and woe be tide anyone who's opinion differs from theirs.

Oh, and just to wind you up even more, I enjoyed Happy Gilmore more than Casino aswell.

Oh and adams901, you either need a sense of humour or a brain.

adams901, he's right? It's about which film you enjoy more.

Just so happens that if you're too thick to realise a great film when you're seeing, and a peice of shit when you see that then there's nowt that can be done.

Go figure?

Please explain this to me, as the lack of a brain has clearly left me confused as to why this comment was made.

You have made it quite obvious that you have a sense of humour, only someone with a sense of humour would have made the selections you have.

Read the above again, then ask yourself whether I honestly think Seagal is a better actor than De Niro, taking into account the fact that I was probably being deeply sarcastic when I typed that. Sit down, relax, have a banana.

jake, what worries me most about you is that you are using objective criteria to evaluate a mainly subjective area - that of taste in films. That kind of approach blew up the Challenger space shuttle, and is prevalent in the wannabe intelligentsia who seem to make up most of the film critic world. Suffice to say, I'm not paying the slightest bit of attention to anything you're saying.
