I am now actually thinking of something a little bit practical as I may need the extra space (few babies on the way... hehe)

Sooooo, I'm thinkin of gettin a MKII Astra 1.3/1.4 but in 5 door... maybe I'll lower it, lob alloys on and that (but thats cuz I want to before everyone flames me)

But I'll be serious, if you are skint get something cheap (1.0 nova/fiesta/whatever but not a yugo, lada, old skoda or 3 wheeler)

If you got a bit of cash for insurance, maybe a nova sr, astra 1.3, escort or something as all these are cheap

If loaded, something more newish like a BM M3

If you are a hairdresser (just being general here ppl) get an MGF

What you on about TUG, I've got cars (two), pooters (three) and money AND a kid. The expensive part is the other half, so I got rid of her! Problem sorted.

Astra SRi's are nice (imho) provided of course they are in good nick. They aren't too prohibitive in terms of insurance either and are quite nippy (certainly fast enough for a 1st car)...

Look out for rusty arches tho, common complaint on Astras.

Years ago I had an Astra 1.4L, was not a bad car, comfy and reliable. Not bad on the motorway either, and cheap to insure too.

I want an astra 1.8SRi for a second car - seen some very nice ones, not thrashed to fuck or nothing and they are cheap! I was impressed. But, no chance it would be a viable 1st car, insurance is a bit silly for someone without at least 1 yr NCB... so heres to hoping I don't crash this year
