I am hoping to take my Driving test in a month or two and want to compile a "Car Music Compilation". What good tracks should i put on it.

Needs to be real Kev music. :)

hmm, keving it is when someone has music with a strong base line on full blast. Kind of person everyone goes "what a twat" to.

Ok lets refine it. Everyone has a favourite CD/Compilation that they play while driving, lets hear it.

Hmmm, well I wouldnt listen to something to euphoric in a car personally, it would be dangerous. I'd start getting into the tune and drive faster and faster without noticing ;)

If you want basslines and such, grab a D&B compilation, Max Bass 2 from Max Power magazine springs to mind, although that stuff would get tedious very quickly, and youd look like a twat unless your system was up to it....

Its all down to personal preference ;)

bit dusty there. but some timeless classics.

my favourite music to listen to whilst driving are game tunes (e.g. tribes, quake etc.) suits the mood out here (as in people trying to outdrive and kill as many indians as possible)

If you want a bassline, get Grimey by Dillinja

I ran out of space to put the UNKLE / Richard Ashcroft - "Lonely Soul" on the end of the other side... overran by about 3 minutes. Best thing Ashcroft ever did imho.

*rowr*

Linkin Park are generic, boring and untalented. One of their guitarists confessed he didn't know what the pedals did on stage, and he only put them there because they look good. No lie.

Some people like them though. Much like some people like generic constructed boy bands. :)

I don't care who makes the music - I just assess the result... and Linkin Park I happen to like

Given, it is the aesthetics of music that count in the end, it is how the music sounds. Inevitably someone will like even the "worst" of music, due to individual opinions. Still, there's no accounting for taste is there. :D

Just because doesn't match your taste makes it untastful then? Who made you the benchmark? ;)

Well I made me the benchmark, given as I would like my own opinions and tastes as to what is good and what isn't. :)

I have a similar problem with that new 'Pink' song. Catchy tune and singable lyrics

I go through fads of driving music, and right now Im in Old Skool land, with:

Move any Mountain (Shamen)
Cream (Prince)
Back II Life (Ermm... )
"Rubber bands expand in a frustrating sigh... " (Erm... Hoooge black guy)
Summertime (Fresh Prince)

And all that kind of stupid music. Occasionaly in a Prodigy driving mood (long distances, motorways), if I'm off to have a good time somewhere it has to be Supergrass I should Coco, If I'm in a foul mood then RATM or NIN, if I'm just up for singing my little socks off and looking bizarre in people's rear views then its Dave Matthews.

I don't *do* Kevisms.
