Does anyone know much about car insurance? My insurance runs out end of november ~ , although in January ill be more than likely living abroad for 9 months, and would see it a waste paying £800 for 1 month usage as Im not gonna be taking my car. I was wondering if anyone knew of any policies or something to insurance per month or something, then I wont have to get a 12 month policy. Thanks ;)

Most insurance companies will let you insure your car for x amount of days, I've done it before. If you phone them and arrange a specific date range that's what you'll pay for.

Hell you can even get insured for one day type stuff if you need to.

I was also wondering if anyone knew anything about contract phones. Im on orange with around 12 months left when for when i move abroad. But as ill be there for 9 months that is a period im pretty sure my free mins and texts wont apply to. Is there any get out clause or something to maybe pospone the contract till im back in the UK?

Nope, you won't get out of your contract unless you have roaming packages available that might be nice. However taking a laptop and getting skype is a good solution for long calls.

Your best bet is to call them and say you lost your job or something most phone companies will offer you a lesser contract as they would rather have some than no money at all. I tried it before with Vodafone and got my contract for half price for the rest of the term but a lot of it depends on how far though the contract you are.

If you dont want to lie just say your leaving the country and say you want to keep your number and ask about moving to a cheaper tariff.
