Yup, he said wanted it on the night we failed to qualify.

Anyone from Mourinho, Capello or O'Neill would have done for me.

We said this about Mclaren and Sven, but did they? But I hope he does :)

really depends if he has the balls to bench big names for not performing, if he does as his reputation states then i think he is a definite improvement

I think we got the right man this time, I just hope the FA let him the job that needs to be done instead of worrying about upsetting so called 'superstars'.

I cant see Capello stood quietly under an umbrella sheltering from the rain as his team sank without a trace.

Decent appointment, and should give English managers time to push through and gain enough experience to replace him in 4-5 years time

The problem is that there just aren't many English managers who look like they will be world class managers. Decent top flight managers maybe but can they win the silverwareit takes to be considered world class? If they can't do it at club level then I seriously doubt they can do it at international level. The sad fact is that there really isn't anyone around these days of the calibre of Brian Clough and that is EXACTLY what England need right now, a combative manager who takes no shit and at the same time is tactically superb.
