Cant get "Joystick" look to permanently Uncheck

Has anyone else had a problem (and found the solution) with not being able to uncheck the joystick look function. I set up the controller config Ok, with it unchecked, then go into the game but the joystick is enabled to "look".

I go back into the set up and find that the box has re-checked itself? - even after shutdown.

Your config.cfg for the game u are playing is write protected, emaning changes cant be saved and so the old settings will appear every time u restart hl.

thanks for that but how do I remove the write protection - dont know how I did it in the first place!

Did you copy it on to a CDR?

Locate the file in windows explorer.

Right click and select properties. Uncheck the read only option
