Cant decide between making a mind sorc or a dark SM...

Hoping you could share some of your thoughts my pros and cons for eatch class is:

*SMs can respec to Supp and become a very diffrent class (if I should get boored)
*SMs are pretty unwanted in mid rvr groups (epess dark ones) so if I want rvr groups I would have to make my own
*SMs will probably get a new unique RA (cause its probably the worst one ingame to date) when they get reviewed. [witchs can turn out cool]
*Can debuff 50% resists for the mid PBAoE, and the supp RM nukes.

*Sorcs are a realy complete class that is wanted in groups
*Sorcs are stuck with CCing as their main objective no matter how they spec (witch can probably get frustrating)
*Albion as a realm has too high population (this might just be a mental immage I have or smt tho :p havent accualy rolled an alb excal char and done a /who)

Anyhow Im still debating these two classes with myselves, hoping you could shed some light on em :)

when mezz was ok (with 5% average resists and not 50%) dark sm was very solid class
nowadays it's pbae all the way
you cant debuff for pbae, no way, average albs die faster then you can imagine
i'd better take rc rm for cold debuff, for nuking sosed albs

cant and wont try both as I would have to level em to 50 to get a feel of how it would be to play one at 50 :p

Dont have time nor patience to try both :)

I think both looks interesting, challenging and whatever. But I just cant play one without thinking I should have made the other and vise versa...... Just want some oppinions and Il mkae my desission based on em :)

Been a while since I had a level 50 char now tho so I cant just log in a level 50 char go rvring and make my desission from what I see/experiance in rvr either :D Witch makes it hard to decide

Sorc's we're sought after before but since they now have power regen buffs and mezz reduction buffs there even better, however they are arguebly one of the most difficult classes to play in RvR well, though im sure many will disagree with me there, so it depends how confident you feel in yourself :D

Of cause the power regen buff now also makes them much sought after for PvE too and for Epic mob hunts, as even if your not grouped with people you can still do a /target <name> and give power buffs to other groups without power regen etc.

And of cause theres the pets, if you like pets.

What puts a bit of a stopper on sorcs for me tho is Albion.

How bad is ablion nowdays (zerg wise)? and how mutch of the population does alb hold etc??

Albion may have a few more people in the realm, but when it comes to RvR all 3 realms field about the same amount in the variance frontiers, go looking for zergs and you'll find them.

people who accuse one paticular realm of zerging are just looking for a scapegoat to whine about to alleviate there own frustration.

dont make a sorc m8, its better to be the friend of fotmgard :)

Both classes are fairly complete. Tho i dont think the demezz chant, 1850 mezz range makes up for cloth armor and no instant CC spells. (cc fucked anyways in Tankalot)
As said above the survivability for the sorc is very low. (mostly couse they are the only cloth wearers in an alb grp). And as the main CC-er, you will get MA on your ass fairly fast, its a fun class but get ready to die first, fast and a lot (sometimes it is close to depressing :)
About zergs, well as you figured albs got the highest population so yes mostly they have the biggest numbers out there rvsring, but things like sorceror vs healer , mercenary vs savage, wizard vs chanter couses that :) + the fact this is the realm where making a balanced grp takes ages... (it wasnt more then 5mins when i played migard here). So if you are an alb, usually 100+ ppl in emain at prime, 20-40 in odins, 1-10 in hw. So stlong zerg in emain, is ok in odins, and some nice fights in hw.

Grouping: well imo both chars will do ok in pve, but in pvp you will have a harder time in midgard (mainly becouse 4seer/4viking setups), but its not impossible imo.

From seeing a friend of mine play, level and rvr with a darkness SM, i can only say its a very versative and fun class (spec) to play. I'm even trying it out myself on Prydwen.

Not exactly the brightest CC class out there (though they are mid's secondary cc class), they have that pbaoe-mez which is quite interesting for uncovering stealthers AND freeze them off untill you get a bit of range.

The lifetap is quite good as nuke. The last spell in the chain (the 90% lifetap) is quite a lifesaver at times and does ok damage, combined with some good RA's. However the mana cost is visibly higher than runemaster spec dd's, for example.

A mind sorc doesnt have a spec damage spell, so they have to greatly rely on their pets, as far as i can see it. But you get to choose your own pet and the sorc charm (which is forever and doesnt drain your mana) can be quite funny and interesting :)

My two cents...

If what bothers you is wanting to even up population numbers, go Hib. Also, Hibs aren't quite to fixated on "perfect" groups as Mids, which means you're more likely to actually see action in RvR instead of hanging around the tk weeping "lfg" because you're not a skald/shammy/savage/healer.

Remember that you must be at least RR6 ;ddd

Make a mincer! No, a skald! No, a warden! :)

Seriously, if I didn't have such a good bunch of guildies in Alb, and didn't enjoy playing my mincer so much, I'd definitely go Hib. Some really nice fun classes there, and the Excal Hibs seem a much more friendly bunch than the Mids (with some expcetions, of course). I think because it's the smallest realm in numbers, Hibs pull together a bit more.
