Anybody else having connection problems.

Goes to loading screen. After a minute or so, IP address message appears, followed by datagram connection established (or something like that), followed by 'Hit ESC to exit'. No error message is displayed.

Only started happening since the 1.69 patch. Done a full scan, but no luck.
Is it just me, or are other experiencing it?

Oh, and if a full install is needed, is there anyway to backup my macros/settings?

A guilde had the same problem seemed to be a firewall issue. Would try and re add daoc to the firewall allow list and see if that helps. :)

Assuming your using a firewall ofc. ;)

I'll have a look at the firewall tonight. I use zonealarm, and noticed there was no popup requesting access, which there usually is after a patch...

Resorted to a full re-install last night, which didn't do anything =(

Cheers,
Dylan

Agreed, try switching off zonealarm, and maybe AV software - see if you can connect ok, my guess is you will be able to... then quit and investigate your fiewall and AV (dont leave them off !! hehe)

Found and fixed the problem. It wasn't my firewall because it wasn't even running, which is why I pointed out that it was strange my firewall didn't even request if the new version of the software can access the internet.

I had the proxy.a5 virus. It turns off zonealarm and records all keystrokes.
Only noticed when I went to change zonealarms settings and noticed it wasn't running. Then, after running it, it turns itself back off after about 20 seconds.

Little bugger to get rid of too. AVG couldn't do it. Had to resort to manually checking for registry keys, and crippling the DLLs that it uses.

Once it was removed, DAoC worked fine. So, if your zonealarm keeps shutting itself down, get yourself scanned.

Cheers for the help anyway guys, I'm back i now

I had this exact same problem as well, and logged it with Rightnow. Got a fast response telling me to reinstall Directx and/or graphics drivers, which obviously didn't solve it. I'm relieved to see someone else had the same problem since 1.69. Am trying your solution right now. I'm suprised rightnow haven't picked up on it.

StinkingD, you are my absolute hero, it worked. I uninstalled Zonealarm, did a full virus scan (failed to find anything), and rebooted. DAOC works fine now.

Thanks again.
