Tristessa said:Is it just me or are those that keep complaining about people not soloing in RvR, the people that think killing someone in a 1vs1 combat is actually a great accomplishment? You guys do realize that your name won't be printed in the newspapers...? Can you spell g-a-m-e? Not to mention the fact that if u want to solo and expect to find only solos, why are you playing an MMORPG? Go play an offline computer game, and kill anything you want and leave the rest to do what they want, without having to read childish posts about how *uber solo players are* and how *inferior grouped people that rely on others are*
Nuff said. Grow up.

Nicely Said Sums up my original post perfectlyCorran said:to be honest i think you need to grow up. the game should be able to equate to both groups and solo people, not just one and too a degree it does just that. And offline games 1vs1 and online games 1vs1 is totally different not that you may realise it if your response to all situations that occur in daoc is the same. Fighting against another person is unpredictable, you dont know how they will react unlike a npc, which after fighting them just a couple of times you know how they will act and as such there is no challenge as you know what to do every time.
killing someone one on one is not a big accomplishment sure, but surviving in the daoc world for more then 2minutes solo is as you will be out numbered. Believe me there is no in game accomplishment greater then coming across a much greater number then you and living from the encounter. the times in which i met entire groups and killed 3+ of them while solo and got away and stayed alive on my sorc to fight another day is something that i find better then running in 8vs8 and slaughtering them. People like a challenge, and when you only got yourself to rely on and no one else the challenge is greater for all odds are against you. If you get a 1vs1 and die, you think "fair enough, what can i do different next time" and as such adapt. What do you learn by hitting someone once and them dying as 5 others hit them at same time?
Everyone is different. I will spam GoP alliance chat when im solo telling the story and taking bets on what will happen, survival time, how many will attack me together and give regular updates. Kinda like news coverage and just having a laugh with alliance. If i was running in a group i wouldnt be doing this and would be bored at that time of day when there mostly just solo people, stealthers and small groups, with the odd full group that try trampling people. I find that fun and i ended up playing the game to piss about, chase after Tare- and his group whilst just chatting. Doac is an interactive chat program, no single player game is
Hmm, 2.15am and i talking crap. im bored and tired so i think i leave it at that. Just remember taht you may not agree solo'in is an achievement but some people do and you got no reason to put them down or tell them to bugger off. Afteral, could simply say to you "You want group fights only then bugger of to Counter-strike"
Mandi said:I have been going solo on my scout for about 3 days now and so far I have met only 1 other solo'er and that was Hinnea, Luri Thunderer who i might add, really kicked my butt (but ur PA kinda sucked tho, only 242 damage, and it doesn't take l33t skills to kill a solo rr1 scout with yellow buffs ) , rest of the time I get ganked at mmg by several stealther duo's and trio's and even 2 shades (one was izihere) just down slope of apk (and then they flame no alb wants to go solo waaaahhhh!)
I could join a few stealthers but I always declined, why? cuz i'm oldschool, i'm a veteran that still hopes for that one solo kill I made hoping to make a screenie to remember.... but sadly enough its mostly slam and sprint away from being outnumbered ...
Yes I went to DL and killed 5 exp'ing hibbies, revenge was so sweet really... it felt good for all those times I got killed in DF , and besides, getting killed in frontier while xp'ing is a risk we all take so no sweat there... that and the fact I only killed em once then I left them alone ...
as for AMG, there is only one of it, with my stealth skill (35+12 now, made rr2 so beware I got true sight now ) I thought I was all alone, i went to battlements and found 4 others chatting away and I couldn't see em... so most of the time you THINK you are alone but you ain't. Like I said, there is only 1 AMG and about 100 albs wanting to camp it ... can't blame us for anything really, NF will be so much bigger so hush ...
and for all who cares, i'm off to alb frontier killing teg rangers now on my necro to find some more Elven arrows to use

Tristessa said:I dont mean that solo fighting should be put down. Id be all for it if there was more solo fighting happening. What Im talking about is people that whine because they get added. Ive been added a million times in the past with my infil, even when I was just about to win a fight. Who knows how many players have been through situations like that. But you dont see all of em posting here complaining. You may think Im a kid but at least Im mature enough to accept things as they are and know that this is just a videogame. Why whine over something like this? That is what I dont understand.
GrivneKelmorian said:going solo as a stealther is what is most rewarding imo. You learn new things all the time.
like what will you do if you get stealther add?
how do you get through a milegate where the gate is camped?
what do you do if an archer TSes you?
hahaCorran said:1) you wait for all your realms adds to join in the fight. wont take long. strafe about till they do
2) you wait for your realms zerg to come along and start fighting the opposite stealth zerg then sneak through
3) you die then see the archer get slaughtered by your realms zerg
there we go
