cant acess daoc at all

after patch yesterday, i got the socket error thingy, i re-installed the protocols, that didnt work, i could only get to the login screen before.... now i decided to re-install it and install SI while i was at it, now it wont even load the patcher it just says

"cannot connect to update server.

please wait a while and try again"

anyone else have this problem???

i only just managed to re-subscribe my account on tuesday and i havent been able to play since servers were down wednesday and now i cant do anything, please, any help will be very welcome.
