Photography Canon Eos 300D

Now I know the camera in the title is old now but I have the option to get one off another forum for around the £75 mark including postage and it will come with a 18-55mm zoom lens and 8GB CF card 2 batteries. Firstly is this a good price and secondly as a step into the more serious camera market would this be a good choice?

I know there are some serious nerds on here when it comes to pics *looks at @Big G* *nudges @Tom* *mumbles about wazz not being here*

Yes you'll have great fun with it, and the picture quality, while relatively low resolution, will blow away any compact or camera phone you will have used.

I did something similar with a 350D - good first step to learn the ropes with.

It'll be fine although that 18-55mm lens is, in my experience, a load of wank.
