What's the three girls holding hands all about...are they in a "Rush"?

I reckon there are probably legitimately hundreds of bands in there though.

The Shadows probably wasn't in the "official" list...but it counts, surely? What about other generic-type ones that could work for almost any picture? Pavement?
Or to be really silly...Air? Or even Space?
