Can Some One Please Restore My Faith In HIbernia...or even DAOC as a whole?

I think there are a lot of very nice people in Hibernia DAOC…

That said, and this is unfortunately true in real life also, the small minority of idiots/fools/bastards ruin it for the people who just want to play the game to have fun.

I had a whole spiel to give you hear, about people begging for gold when they are in the biggest guilds, to people believing they have more rights to skeletal minions because they have a level 50 character…

But, as with most things you have to do it when you feeling the anger, else it would lack the edge needed to get the appropriate response…

Thank you all,

NOT and easy task I know

***Lowly level 44 champ, maybe not worthy enough for a response from a level 50, but all you lowbies out there feel free to post***

He met some ignorant grief players I think, and he wants people to tell/show him that there's also loving, caring and intelligent people on this server ( ;

Just join CBH ( : We don't allow beggars, we're all terribly nice to eachother and when we're in a bad mood, we just slap our guild slap muppet (I won't mention your name, k Fallen? (; )

Speak with any of the following people to reassure yourself that there are some really, really fantastic people around (hope you guys don't mind me posting your names :p ):

<in no particular order>
Alrindel, Morias, Jozen, Gray, Eblessair, Gjiinn, Harglowe, Blucia, Lanvar, Armolas, Vulcan, Barakus, Temperance, Lavelle ...
(ok, this could go on for a while, so I'll stop here)

The best soloution to a bad game day I can think of is /quit.

No one should hound you out but really if it gets that stressful it's prob not going to get much better until u log for a bit, do something else then maybe the idiots have moved on :)

As a rule I spontaneously (at odds with the concept of spontaneity I know but hear me out) give money away rather than indulging the beggars.

I never asked for money at any stage, people loaned me and if I could twist their arms enough I paid em back!
So I figure it's best for people to actually make friends and get a leg up that way than to wander around looking silly and begging any lvl 50 they can get a /who 50 on.
Hey, my hero still had an af66 rf helmet at 43!

There are tons of nice people about and they are often willing to lend a hand, just some people take the total piss out of that.

Stick with it and just learn to filter the stupidity out, much more fun then :-D

Well, I'm not sure if the fingers on my hands are enough to count the times a n00b with <Clan Bearhawk> under his name has begged for money, even if I'm playing an alt... So I think you should tell it to them too, not just ''not allow'' it so I don't have to tell it to them :)

Really? I've never seen it before, if you do and you have a cpl of minutes message on of their officers (or anyone high level in CBH) and I'm sure they either won't do it again, or won't have CBH under their name for long.

I'm not in CBH, never have been, but they are justly have a reputation for being a great guild; Grizzly is a very good man and helps a lot of people, not just his own guild members. They do have an open recruitment policy, so I suppose they will get bad apples, but they will do something about it if someone lets them know.

Similarly if you see anyone in Na Fianna do it, message me.

hehe CBH does have strict rules on it and youll be doing them a favour by telling them about it. :) CBH is a nice guild and its made a good reputation for itself since the start :)

as for beggars mate > it dosent take much to say no and if they harass you you have the option of /ignore . use it

there have been some nicer people asking me for money and ive gave them a bit > some guy was selling cloaks and he was polite about it and trying to earn it > i respect that and tippedhim :) but the abnoxious ppl who beg me constantly get warned , then put on th /ignore list

As for the nice ppl and the arseholes > get urself ina nice guild and make friends , then the bad ppl dont really matter at all

Llixeraxu, I constantly meet nice people in Hibernia and are amazed on how far some people are willing to go to be helpful!

Several times ive been killed at the knights in sheroee hills and have a group coming to ress us through dangerous terrain.

Ive had people eagerly helping me doing my different guides. Taking their time to group with me when I run around collecting data, answering questions.

Ive had lvl 50 chars camping with me for hours at SC and other places so we could exp even though they only get a lil bit of gold for the trouble.

But this all pales compared to the time and commitment many people contribute with on helping with the last step in the epic quests. These can take hours and result in many deaths ( costing a fair bit ). Ive had nothing but fun on these outings and we never lacking a group. If people cant come help they say so politely.

Ive had surprisingly few beggars harass me. Sometimes someone ask me for help but this is usually very politely and then I try to help out.

Sure there is a few bad eggs in the basket as well. ( could name a few but I wont :) ). This is irritating but it only makes the nice people shine brighter, dont you think?

I know what you mean LLix, i've had the same thing over and over again, but i just laugh at them and walk away, i don't mind giving out money to people who need it, but when a level 4 char walks up to you and says 'give me 10 gold plzzzzzz' then that's just taking advantage, i mean what could they possibly need for 10 gold at that level?

Hehe, if you want harassment try being an enchanter and standing at Mag Mel for more than 30 seconds, all you get is ...

buff plz

dam add plz

can u buff me plz

and just plain PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!

I've even had people chasing me from mag mel to basar pm'ing me to stop and buff them ....

:p

I do buff them, i'm just saying it is annoying when i get back from emain then start off to dl to rejoin grp asap when i get chased by a lowbie who saw me pop and get a pm saying buff me pls. :p
And they do have to ask me, i don't always notice what's goin on around me. :p
And don't get me wrong here, i DO buff any lowbie i see. But why exactly do you expect everyone else to do it too? It's their game time that gets taken up by stopping to buff, ok so it doesn't take long for each one, but if you buff everyone you come across it all adds up. This person has taken the time to lvl their character to 50 and now you expect them to use up their valuable time buffing lowbies instead of enjoying the game for themselves.

And lastly, don't tell me you don't get annoyed when you are having a conversation with someone and suddenly a lowb buts in with buff pls. I think that's rude interupting me .:p

I have no problem at all buffing low level characters, in fact on ocassion i have stood at Mag Mel when i've been bored and buffed everyone in sight just for the hell of it, what i don't like is the low level charactors who think it's their 'god given' right to be buffed by higher level charactors and some of the rude and tbh abusive ways that they ask for it. If someone stops me and asks for a buff politely i buff straight away, but if i get spammed by the same person over and over again with rudeness then i tell them to get lost.
