Hehe! You'd be amazed at some of the stupid things people do with computers, and some of the questions they ask.. Some people will never get the hang of it, I guess. ;)

Another good reason why computers should have never become user friendly :)

.. except that 99.999% of 'press any key' prompts really mean 'press any key except the really wierd ones back from the IBM days, like scroll lock etc, oh and Control, oh and alt....'

tbh i no plenty of ppl who would fall into that kind of catergory, and they arnt all stupid, its just some ppl get a bit intimidated when technology is stuck in front of them,

i mean look at how many ppl cant programm a video and simply record a full 6hrs to simply watch and 1/2 hr episode of XYXYXY Street ? :)

tell you one thing that confused me tho .....

wtf is that doing in an online guide ? :)

if they are still at the "WHERES THE ANY KEY" stage how do they get online and search for help ? :)

PS

i was a Muppet once, i remeber the fear when i "logged" into the computer at Uni, the panic when i formated a floppy disk and the pc went BEEP-BEEP-BEEP!, the gut renching terror of my first BSOD .... being honest most of us have been muppets at one time or another :)

Hehe,

I was fiddling around with the inside of my computer once, plugged her back in and turned it on and it started beeping at me, then it sat there at a blank screen. I physically felt sick but i opened my comp back up and firmly pushed everything into their places (wires, ram etc) and it worked fine.

There are some really funny looking ppl in my local EB :D

I buy most of my games there tho just for convenience. Only mail-order import titles. I wonder if they'll start giving out Barrysworld ISP CDs in stores now instead of the shitey ones they usually give out ? :)

Any ISP that needs a special CD should be avoided.

Obviously by the Technically Literate (TM) but it'd be a good way of EB promoting their new baby to the feeble-minded.

sjp that is so spot on.. I FUCKING HATE the staff in ALL EB stores... I mean, do EB *deliberately* go out of their way to employ clueless little console-kiddies (all festooned with zits like some kind of post-apocalypse nuclear mutants) who CLEARLY know FUCK ALL about FUCK ALL and yet are specially trained to act all superior and knowledgeable, god it's pathetic they make me want to beat their brains out with bricks.

*ahem*

'scuse me..
