WELL since this thread is back up..

My friend wrote to his MP about not being able to get broadband,
so I thought id do the same. After 3 or 4 correspondances about 'the benefits of broadband' and how BT is spending blah amount of money on broadband etc. My MP decided he would do something. Ads in the local newspaper etc. This is when pre-registrations started shooting up. Also this month the local Safeway (where I happen to work) has broadband leaflets inside its monthly magazine. (thats over 3000 magazines).

My exchange is now sitting at 355 of the required 400 and I hope it will reach its trigger level this month with the Safeway magazines going on sale yesterday.

Correct. The will upgrade the exchange, then tell you some lame excuse why you as an individual cannot receive Broadband (at least they will when I phone them and tell them about you)

Danger, if your exchange has been enabled , dont believe a word BT say about your line test. Apparently (according to their line test thingy) im still not able to get broadband, and I wasnt when i signed up over a year ago.

However I then went to Nildram, who had me setup within a couple of weeks and ive been happily using for over a year now (apart from the last month where its been fucking appaling - thanks to BT).
