The scottish highlands is a vary large area with a highly decentralised population.... making it very difficult to provide it there....

On the other hand I live just outside cardiff city centre and can't get it even though my exchange is enabled... shows how shit BT are

So even if they enable your fookin exchanges chances are ya can't get it

well. 110 quid per month for ADSL out here. 512kbps speed. only problem is that you can only get it 3-4km from the exchange.

good news is that the very large majority (including me) live within that radius.

bad news is. too expensive

Buy a small piece of land within that area stick a shed on it, sign it up for ADSL then buy 10 WirelessAccessPoints and a Broadband Router then daisy chain it back home.

Problem solved, my consultation fee is on its way

Im in Glasgow. My exchange is cambuslang. It's currently sitting @ 320 of the 400 required pre reg's. 80 more people and its upgraded. Doesnt seem to bad but then, it was at 50-100 people for ages then all of a sudden it started going up by 120 or so.

I believe BT say 'may upgrade, when the trigger level is reached', they are quite careful never to say 'will upgrade'.

I'm at 8 registered with no trigger set yet I'm not holding out a lot of hope.
