Can anyone recommend a desktop launcher?

I was using this:

and was working great for 2 days, but for some reason it suddently stopped working so need a new one

Tried using Rocketdock but absolutely hate it

I need access to lots of short-cuts daily so anything resembling rocketdock is out of the question

I really don't want to go back to having my desktop full of shortcuts again
