Can Any Rangers Give Me An Insight...?

Can't say I spent hours into researching Dancer I thought the hours might be better spent making some friends silly me...

No idea if I am "gimped" and frankly no interest either. I would only consider myself so if I had no friends to xp and go RvR with.

I chose a Luri 'cos they are small and cute :)

Can't remember what stats I chose to improve when I created her they just looked right I guess.

I've got to level 46 and only just decided what my final spec will be.

I suppose I am a "gimped" player for choosing a character I'd like to roleplay in a Realm I've never explored before and enjoying it all the more for doing so :)

And no-one has ever asked me what my spec was before they added me to any group or their friends list so why the hell should I worry about it :)

Aye, exactly what I said, it's fine to choose a luri if it's the size you want to go for, but the fact is _the_ perfect ranger template would involve roling a celt which has been my point all along, there's just no reason, from the perfect spec point of view to go for either of the other races. There is reason to go if you like Luri's ;)

Some people do like to see their char with a perfect spec, others don't, if you don't care (Which I don't particularly, or I'd have dumped my ranger and rerolled a celt) then fair enough that's your choice, but feeding misinformation on the best choice of race for the class wont even leave someone with the choice of the perfect spec or not.

Gotta say, cookie-cutter characters are a bit dull... it's supposed to be a role-playing game after all.. being perfectly specced so you can own everyone isn't my idea of the game.. maybe this is why I kinda got bored of it after all the people I knew and recognised a few months ago have since been cloned many times over and there's simply no individuality within the game anymore.

All people are entitled to an opinion, if some say lurikeen are better it's up to them, not up to others to just simply tell them YOU'RE WRONG!! Revminster is the best ranger I've ever grouped with in rvr, doesn't mean that he is the best specced ranger and maybe he isn't the best ranger at all but I had a lot of laughs and a lot of success whilst grouped, and to be honest I think it was the laughs and fun that made the experience better. I also like grouping with Marius a lot despite him still not being level 50 a lot of people know him to be a good player (ok so both these are HDS rangers but I'll admit it's not a coincidence, just that I grouped with them more).

So anyway.. when push comes to shove and facts are needed, I think we all know that the best ranger is pure mana specced with a little underhill pet following them around and can debuff to hit for millions or hide behind doors and pbaoe for billions :)

Don't really post much here, but both Falcon and Shike has some good points. Though from what I've read Falcon's view is a bit too bias towards a celt. As for Grad's performance in RvR, I for one can vouch for his performance.

Frankly I think both celts and luris has thier good/bad side. Celts may have that bit more HP, and luris, better dex/qui. But with the high dex/qui figures that either races get, the difference in minimal. the same goes for HP, especially when opponents hits for several hundred damage per hit/shot/nuke, what will 100 or so extra HP make?

oh sod, it...both of you know nothing! Elf Rangers Rule! ;)

i agree with cornell (gasp) on his cookiecutter point... the whole respec really annoyed me as for one many players lost their idiviuality/identity and we just ended up with hundreds of clones... So many s/s armsmen now... can't believe they followed the spec of albion's biggest pink gimp :p

as a general rule, there are always more stats important to your character than those that increase each lvl (3 go up per lvl, most ppl need str/con/dex and atleast 1 otehr qui or int or emp or char probably) therefore pick a race which has the highest of those important stats which don't go up in lvl.. ie.. for a champion be a lurikeen for uber dex/qui which don't go up as much as str does.. for a ranger prob pick a celt, for better str/con since dex/qui go up a lot as you lvl already..

basically, the technique for uberness is to pick the race with the worst starting stats for your class :p

well the character will be morw well rounded anyway... as starting with a lower amount in str/con will mean lower final caps for those stats but saying that malev hit like a brick shithouse so what do i know :p
