Camping of Mile Gates

This post is similar in nature to my last. So what do you all think of the camping that goes on at milegates.


Is it good or bad ?
Does it spoil RvR ?
Do the mids really do it more than others or does it just seem that way ?
Are there really so many dumb people out there that keep trying to attack 5 times there number to make camping worthwhile ?
Why if people see a camped MG don't they goto one of the other realms ?


I myself have only ever camped a few times, so I need your input here guys. Personally if i see a force camping an Alb MG that is far too strong I just stop going back.

I don't have a problem with any of those.

A force can still gather in pk and then rush out and do the cleaning... so why not ? All is fair in war...

Before anyone else misreads it. I NEVER said it was BAD, im asking for your opinion. and my last post was about Zerg forces which again i didn't say was bad.

I quite like it when the Mids camp our PK, I get a nice high, safe vantage point to snipe at peeps.

Tera, I think it's the way you phrase your questions that may give the impression, MAY, that you think it is bad. Your follow up questions sound negative, hence maybe the response.

I personally see it as fine, it's a hell of a lot better than the old PK camping days. At least you give your opponent the chance to run, and scouting becomes useful. Some people still camp PK's, most now stick to a MG, since it's a nice place to fight as there's lots of open ground around them. And it is a perfect place to sandwich the camping army.

As for people taking on greater numbers, sometimes they just don't know how many are there.

In the end, I got no problem with it.

Hate to use the word with RvR -- but its actually a good tactical move. Why worry about where the enemy is going to be when you can keep him locked up behind the milegate?

The problem with zooming off somewhere else (aka Odin's) is that when you get there you have a snoeshoe bandit and his dog for company and empty space for miles around...

Of course you could walk up to Hadrians, but you'll either meet 30 Mids/Hibs there and get ganked, or sit around picking your nose.

Pk is a valid tatic but with 3 realms actively rvr now in large numbers the mg camper whether mid/alb/hib can get attacked by both realm at once.

which is good for the other 2 realm but not so good for the campers

I myself have camped mg normall after we have killed all mids/albs and we hope u will came back with a few more for a nice bit of rvr

Well if we could charge your godamn pk in emain macha we would have run over it two thousand times already, so unless we want your gimp archers to shoot us to death we fall back to amg only to see 20 albs appear, charge, only to see 20 albs run back to pk and we try to pick you out as many as we can. aaaaand back to square one. so please tell me, what is good or bad?

There are two very different kinds of MG camping. AMG camping in Emain and MG camping in Odin’s. When done right, both are very effective == good.

No.

Yes, we do it more by far than any of the other two realms.

a) because there is no large concentration of enemies in other frontiers (in case of APK camping in Emain)

b) because they want to get to Yggdra (in case of MG camping in Odin’s)

c) because they don’t know any better (in case of people who just figured out how to use a teleport)

You won’t believe it but I actually killed a yellow con saracen right besides the APK door today, during a suicide run. Made my day really.
