i have seen many peps camping a spot where a arti mob gone spawn, and thay clame the mob even befor it has poped. I have goten most of my artis whit not mutch prob but i see/read alot about it. So i send a mail to goa and asked. If a dud camp a mob and another grp shows up befor the camper can get his grp there, who got the right to pull.

Greetings,
Thanks for the query. Our policy on camping and encounters is simple. Whoever starts the encounter first has the right to complete the encounter without interference. Camping an encounter does not give you the right to 'claim' a mob or an encounter. Until you have started the encounter (either by pulling the mob or performing whatever action is required to start the encounter) you do not have any claim to the encounter at all. In the case of encounters where multiple enemies have to be defeated to complete the encounter, then pulling one of the mobs required for the encounter counts as starting the encounter (for example with the Guard of Valour encounter, pulling either Danos or his bodyguards counts as starting the encounter, pulling the random centaur patrollers does not).
In your example above the second group is fully within their right to start the encounter as the camping group has not yet begun the encounter.

That's GoA offical position but I'm sure if you'd been waiting 6 hours on an arti spot for it to spawn, then someone happens along and "steals" it you'd be feeling a little let down by that particular statement.

GoA's offical view and the view from the community tends to differ on this subject.

its common manners to give the person camping it 10 mins or so to gather his/her grp, camping an arti doesnt mean its yours though, some kids will just run in even if you are clearly preparing, it increases their E-peens, but thankfully they are a dying breed and finding less and less people who are willing to back them up.

I doubt you make many friends if you run in and start an artifact right away where someone has been waiting for a while to see it pop.

But then again... if virtual items are more important to you then having some respect for someone that is waiting for some time to have a go at the artifact you are not doing anything illegal according to GOA's rules by pulling it.

Personally i think it's better to give this person some minutes to form a group, ask for credit or a shared random then to just run in and pull but everyone is different offcourse :D

if you don't wish to be disapointed about losing out on a mob after camping it for 10 hours, the answer is simple ... don't camp, you all know the rules about 'camping'

Not everyone has 10 hours a day free to spend sitting camping artifacts, so just as some of you see it as not fair to have your artifact stolen  i personally don't see why i or anyone else can not pull a mob from under your nose if you're not ready if they don't have as much spare time as you do. The only thing i ever camped was traldors, and i learnt from my mistake very fast. you'll should do the same.

("you" doesnt mean anyone in particular fyi)

Agree with Nuked here...

When im out for an arti, and i see it up, im going to pull it, if someone is close i ask them if they want Enc, and if it is someone who needs that arti for them self, and not just to sell, i give them the arti for free, aslong as i get to keep the other drops.

Hunting artis was the way i earned my money, but i never ever camped a spot for more than 5 mins, just ran around whacking whatever was up, and selling cheap.

The other day i saw 1 person on /as saying he wanted help to a pre-claimed GoV (he spammed 5+ times), I ofcourse wouldn't go and pull it, but i wondered what would be wrong with it, i mean just cause he had camped it 5+ hours (or whatever), would it be wrong if someone happened to run by, see it up, pull it & kill it. I dont think so.

If someone can claim a mob and then has to spend 30 minutes assembling a group to do the encounter, thats 30 minutes lost before its next respawn.

First ready to pull and first to pull is the only way, overall this means more atrifacts in the realm, hence stronger realm.

But that's just wrong - for Guard of Valour encounter, you only need to kill Danos...
