I'm far from a grinder, only got to level 23 so far in WoW but i'm already bored with it. It's just a bloody single player game with a chat function and random people who just stall your progress. Even though daoc's exping was a huge grind it encouraged grouping, something that wow is really lacking imo. Too bad daoc has toa so i won't go back to it, even though catacombs looks nice. Can't stand the idea of having to do that horrible artifact/ML stuff again.

You certainly don't have to group in WoW but there is a need to group if you want to do the instances. At level 23 have you done Van Cleef - its oftyen one of the first ones that people do. At 30 there will be lots of tells for Gnomergan groups.

I've done Van Cleef. Was the first time I grouped in 23 levels. :eek7: But a game i can group a few times , then level like 8 levels solo again just to do another instance with a group is just so lonely. Everyone is always busy with his own quests and even if you find a group outside an instance it's hard to do more then a few quest. It usually ends something like "K, got my quests, gg" *disbands*. Thats not really what i'm looking for in a mmog.

You are putting me off playing now, the last thing I want is to be soloing 80% of the time, if I wanted to do that I could level alts in DAoC.

Well, maybe you have a different experience. But mine was that nobody bothers to group because solo exp is better. It might be better on a pvp server though, because of the threat of the horde/alliance there.

Grouping is a lot more frequent in the pvp servers because it's more dangerous to walk around alone.

But really, it depends on what people want and prefer, i like almost everything about daoc but the n.1 reason i am not playing it atm is because i don't have the time to form balanced groups each night. It takes 1 hour to form a group and another one to play, you spend 50% of your time doing nothing which is the most negative thing about it. Even being in a fixed gorup doesn't help much because sometimes someone will be missing, he will be late, you will have to wait for him or wait for a replacement and anyway the commitment that is required when playing in a fixed group is a huge burden for me, i can't really tell my rl friends that i can't go out with them because it's rvr night.

I am 100% supporting blizz on that aspect, soloing through most of the content is the way to go, most people can't afford spending the time that's associated with forced grouping. For others with plenty of time and dedication to a game, i suppose it would be better to try something else if the dislike soloing.

I think that WoW had a big advantage, they could look at DAOC, EQ and others and look at what they liked and what the didnt like and work on it.

But it also means that they could get around things that would speed up the leveling on 2nd charcters and cash farming, like PBAOE/STUN areas which DAOC has.

But any big game will have problems.

I think that PVP/RVR is more sophiscated in DAOC. So its WoW for a relaxing PVE and DAOC for my RVR needs.

Random tard righttttt...Personal insults..how very mature of you, playing too much WoW with the kids already I see.

Just hate people who tell me where I can and cant post, people like you. Do you host or run this forum? No, please shut up.

As for you UndyingAngel I play with my friends and my guild who are mostly over 18, including myself. My avatar is just my opinion of what that ref was like that match. Yours and your previous post on the other hand makes you look like a 14 year old who likes wanking over hentai and the likes. Come back when you have grown a pube.
