Bullshit. I've met somewhere in the region of about 70 people I spoke to online first, and never do I call them by their online aliases. It's fucking retarded.

Sadly, the only way round this I could think of is to wear a little badge which says "Hi! I am SomeGuy. My real name is Robin" and then you'd just want to beat each other up for wearing crap badges.
Tricky. I suspect if we ever met it would be a hugely confusing and disappointing affair.
