i want to run both windows 2000 and linux from my mahcine on my 30gb HDD yeah.
but i want my pc to ask me which Operating sys i want to boot up from if ya get me..
also i have another HDD sitting at the bottom of my case its only a 10gb but im using that as a secondary slave so can i boot either OP from one HDD or the other

No, don't use a stick, throw some alkaseltzer in the air, they catch it on the wing. Funniest thing I ever saw. ;)

Whatever version of Linux you use, it should have a boot manager built in (LILO?).

At the moment I boot between Win98/W2K/Linux (Suse 6.40), with no problems.

Be sure to read the documentation though!

Oh, and I expect you'll get more comments on how to do it, but trust me, LILO is the easiest way (easily deleted too).

lol Very funny you lot. Seriously you could do a lot worse than "Partition Magic" You don't even need v.5 One of the 'mags' gave it away and it works for me. :)

LILO (Linux's boot manager, often included on the CD) should sort out your problems. Install Win2000 before installing Linux though as MS OS installers tend to be very arrogant when it comes to the MBR..

I personally use loadlin, but i don't think Win2000 supports that.

tell me about it took me absoloutley ages to hide windows 98 and 2000 from each other they are greedy little buggers! :D
