Very good game, not been wow'd by a FPS rescently personally but this is well worth the money
It's a little short (5 hrs gaming maybe), but the multiplayer is also top notch
P.s. if you complete it wait for the credits to go there is a bonus mission

I'm in the same position as you, FPS games have it very hard to impress me but I was hooked on CoD4 since the first map until the last(I didn't even go for food breaks, that's how good it was).

The maps are simply put fucking amazing. Yes, Crysis looks prettier but honestly random jungle compared to good well thought out maps - the jungle looses out quite fast. The only sad thing about this game is the other game I just mentioned overshadowing it at release - not because it's a better game, but because it looks pretty.

got this again recently and completely loving it. I didn't really like the first few levels (seemed a bit like rail-maps, i didn't have to do anything on hardened the npcs won it for me) but after that i've been sucked in, really enjoying the single player, best cod by far. it's damn good getting all the gun challenges done too, done quite a lot, everytime i try out a sniper or a shotty though my k/d ratio goes right down :d

It's worth it for the singleplayer levels alone, take that as you will but take into consideration that I usually despise FPS games.

love this game. engine performs really well considering how pretty the graphics are. got to rank 15 in multiplayer today, and it's very involving. also the sheer variety of the single player missions is brilliant (love the flashback sniper mission, and the airplane gunner one).

Yeah, controling the spectre weapons is the most fun i've ever had in a game.
Fecking fotm weapons those AC gunships have..
Simply stunning to use.
