Voodoo Ray kicks arse in bucketloads. Early House/Rave was what got me into DJ'ing (also seeing DJ Hype on 3 decks and G E Real on 4 decks :) )

The Prodigy happen to be my favourite band, their early stuff a la' Out of Space and Everybody in the place was fab, as was the later stuff like Firestarter, Breathe and Diesal Power.
The best Prodge track imo is No Good (Start the dance) though.
It heralded the start of the Prodigy's big fuck off music style :)

But there are hundreds of dead good dance tracks, so choosing "the best" is an exercise in futility. More like "most popular".

Anyway, I love them all.
(Partly coz its my job :p )

Wazz, if that is your definition of proper dance music, I can see why you dont like most of the stuff in the top 10.
Personally, I thought the melody had potential, but the rest of it I'd give a thumbs down. Maybe its because I'm not really tuned to Happy Hardcore, but I thought the bpm was way too high, the tune structure too rushed and the vocals sickly. The screechy violin sounds were irritating, and the kickdrum had a nasty hollow sound. But if it's any consolation, a Push vs Lange remix of it would rock my world :)

I'll stick to prog & trance, kthx :)

I gave my Fat of the Land CD away to a m8 cos it weren't really my thing.

I tend to enjoy DnB more. Roni Size was more my sort of thing. Still love Goldie's Inner City Life. Guess I only know the big names really. I'm too old to try to get really into a scene these days. I did that about 10 years ago when I had every Death Metal Ablum going :D

Has anyone seen my coat ? :)

It is a bit of an odd one, I agree, however if you think it's happy hardcore or gabba you've clearly never listened to them. RMB are a European Techno pair (I like to say European because it clearly has a much different style). They started off slightly underground techno, with hardcore elements, and moved on to a more aphex-twin style album, which this is of. Not heard their recent album, from what I've heard it seems to be a bit of a mix, and more commercial. I'm stoned, don't hurt me if that makes no sense.

I'm now listening to an artist called Dune. Similar to RMB's first album, but more hardcore based with techno elements. :D

I like dance music, but am just to lazy to find out track names and artists.

I do have a few faithless albums though, they really are just plain good.

And Massive Attack (although they dont really fit the dance genre i suppose).

Fuck me everyones heard of dune m8, did u know they went commercial with their tune called Hardcore Vibes? Went out on CD and everything!! Blown ur theory out of the water now :)

Anyways can u pm me the link for this tune? Always up for listenin to different stuff. Ta m8 :)

My m8 has hundreds of hardcore cds and tapes, but you have to be in the right mood to listen to it. I usually listen to hard house, things on the nukleuz label and things on defective records.

I dont listen to a lot of DnB even though I live next to Bristol the capital of DnB.

Remember DJ Fistfuck? I got one of his tunes playing right now. Takles me back to a time when The Producer played at the Pleasuredome where I live and for 1 hour the world was a mentalist and evil place where people danced by running on the spot at 180+BPM's, the veins on your neck stood out like high tension steel cables and hardcore seemed like it wasn't nearly hardcore enough.

Went commercial? Their singles were largely commercial, and I'm not it was released two, maybe three times. First was best, 1994 IIRC. Yeah I'll priv you the addy. :)

i have hardcore vibes which went big on vinyl and CD.. lol, cool.. mite do a hardcore mix tomoz for a laff and stream it online :)

lol does anyone remember DJ Unknown and his tune called Volume 1? SERIOUS tune :) wikkid, nice breakbeat hardcore wiv a bit of a bassline, also krome and time - the slammer

smart as fuck old hardcore from like 93/94 :) Does anyone remember a station called exile or XL (or summat) FM from 1994? used to be on 105.6 i think, then moved to 100.7 i think, wikkid :)

Some DJ called Osmosis and a guy called Wayne Taylor or summat, neva missed there shows :)

Listened to that tune now wazzer... tis really poor m8 :)

Bit too cheesy, REALLY stupid use of synthesised 'instruments' which sound nowt like the real thing and annoying vocal samples... I think the style cud be classed as 'bouncy techno' as some happy hardcore was once called in 96 when it got more 4 to the floor and lost the breaks..
