Its more fun when they're full :/

Does that mean your friend supplied David Gray at last years festival? I could kill him, or something equally unpleasant; say, curdle.

Should have got a Golf

no. golfs may be 'deutsche grundlichkeit' [sp?] but they are ugly as fuck.

Well I have to agree about the looks, but the 150bhp - 6 speed diesel model looks a lot of fun.

I'm looking to replace my company car at the mo (my previous one was written off by a mancunian van driver a while ago and it's only just been sorted!).

With the new co2 emmisions thing starting in April, I'm going to go for a diesel. The A3 was a prospect, but it's a little small, ditto the Golf. I'm wavering between the new Mondeo Zetec S diesel and the Rover 75. The Rover 75 is a bit 'old Git'... but so am I :)

These new proponents of diesel cars make me laugh. Diesel will never EVER be better than a Petrol engine. Want proof? Ferrari 360 Modena Diesel. Not gonna happen is it?

My dad drives the finest example of a diesel you will find on today's roads (BMW 320d). It's good yes. But faster, smoother and punchier than the equivalent petrol BMW? Not a chance. Coupled to the fact of how much more diesel fuel costs in this country than Petrol, diesel makes no sense to me at all (economy scheconomy). But then, I like cars which rev higher than 5000rpm :)

Hmmmn,

Take a look at the difference between say a Golf GTi and a Golf GT TDi and say diesels are rubbish.

Diesel may be more expensive, as are the cars, but with the new company car tax they work out a lot cheaper, especially for 40% tax payers (you'll learn about tax when you start working for a living).

Ooops, almost forgot..... ;)

We had an article passed around our offices the other week, all about Tax, CO2 etc. Boring read, but it did allow me to calculate how much more tax I'll be paying when the new laws kick in. I'll save maybe a couple of hundred quid, will I swap my 323i for a diesel? erm not a fooking hope.
Same applied for opting out, buying your own car instead of running a company car, not worth the hassle.

Yuck out.

P.S. I wish the petrol station would NOT puit a fooking diesel nozzle next to an unleaded one, so that every time I fill up I stink like a north sea trawlers engine room.

Heh, wealthy...I wish.

I feel like one of them birds that flies back to it's nest, only to find all these huge chicks with their beaks open.

The new company car regs are going to push a lot more people into driving diesels. OK, there won't be any oil-burners in F1 anytime soon, but they are not the tractors portrayed by some.

Anyhow, my car is a means of getting me from A->B, not a babe magnet. The new C02 laws are actaully pretty good for me, as I'll be saving £900 a year (which means more dosh for important things...like graphic cards

the key word is not "better" you mong :)
anyhoo, although a tdi engine [and the tax of a diesel driven car] is slightly more expensive in this country, the cost of a liter of diesel is much less than a liter of petrol. as I will be driving in excess of 4000km per month [and thus burning a large amount of fuel] the smart choice is to go diesel. mebbeh it's cos I'm half dutch and half scots. they're both notoriously tight you know :D

the fact you're on here let alone looking for girls LET ALONE the fact you're looking for one half dutch/half scottish girl reduces your chances to 0
