Pc magazines just voice opinions, often completely misguided ones, if you ask me. If you want honest opinion, speak to someone who has similar gaming interests to you. Or ones step further, don't take other peoples opinions and actually formulate your own judgement, horray!

and buy all the games  hehe rofl;)

You haven't read PC Zone then, who don't have their tongues stuck up the publishers arses.

I buy PCZ most months (IE 5/6), but not for the reviews.

Where did I suggest that, you nugget. I said either ask friends opinions of whom are more likely to give impartial advice or if you like the look of a game, go and buy it and judge for yourself. You can often get the general jist of a game from others. There's also these new fangled things called, demos.

The demo is shit btw.

It's such a pain, you can't change gfx options without quitting the game, and running a seperate config utility ffs.

The Quake X engines, the 3 variants of the lithtech engine, the Unreal engines, all these allow you to alter your gfx "on the fly" so to speak. Not this though, oh no.

BTW: Tried hosting a multiplayer game to have a run round a map, bugger crashed when I entered the match setup menu.

Woop.

Oh, and it insists you use Gamespy for searching for multiplayer games...

ASE is pretty damn sweet, once you figure out how it works ;)

That's true. ASE cures lepers in the street and walks on water !

Well, since I am a Reverend now, I can give you the salvation you require.

For everything else, there's ASE.

Badly executed hit zones

Random splash damage rendering the rocket launcher & flamethrower largely useless

You said it yourself, Westwood are the kings of RTS. Newsflash: This is an FPS. Well, it tries to be.

Conversely MOH: I've yet to see ONE bug in it.

The game is so slow and crap, frame rates are awful, and it just don't work, too slow and choppy

MOH?

What specs are your PC?

Runs fine on mine (P4-1.9Ghz, 512Mb ram, 64Mb GF3...).

Runs fine at 1024*768*16 on a 800 Duron and Radeon 32 DDR. So hardly a performance hog.

Admittedly, mine is rather tweaked compared to some of the home user machines I have worked with.:D

Dial-up to ISP - weird shit, mine doesn't do that. WinME maybe? ;)

Menu system - I had to look twice before I got it, but it's not rocket science. Play the game :p

no its a known bug matey  which the 15 MB patch fixes(supposedly). Only affects dial-up users. I can get around it by disabling automatic dial. IE: when I double click on IE it asks me to connect.
So i've got to go into dial-up connections to connect to my isp now :(
