England dont suck, the manager does. on paper we've got a squad of very good players.( we were beating Brazil in the world cup then didnt kill the game, we were ahead against Portugal in Euro2004 and didnt kill the game)

BUT, the players are only as good as the tactics/formation they are playing. you dont stick Rooney on the left, you dont keep giving the ball to Beckham just behind your midfield and completely bypass gifted players like Lampard and Gerrard for the entire first half.

If your playing with one striker up front, it shouldnt be a short arse like Owen who hasnt played much football yet this season..


Rookie mistakes. Sven should go and like Scotland have improved , with a decent home based manager firing the players the improvement would be obvious very quickly.

We arent complaining about the players, we are complaining about the manager. As you have said, you arent a football supporter which is evident from your post. If you think the managers job is purely down to picking the starting 11 and a set of subs you are mistaken.

Yes he has to motivate the team and turn a collection of skills and personalities into something that puts the ball in the net, but these players are beyond it, NO manager could meld that bunch of narcistic stars, many seriously overated themselves, into a useful team, the England team has become the modern day Harlem Globetrotters, I wouldn't bet my money against that lot with any manager you can think of against the US second team.
